Freezer acted dead
Lost all the food. Cleaned out the insides. read some Q and A on this freezer online. Took apart the inside panels...found the schematic on the back corner of the freezer. Eliminated the themostat and fan as the problem. Located online the manual as my wife lost the original paperwork. Gambled the control unit was the problem. Ordered it. It arrived ontime. Installed it. Freezer ran. Put the freezer back together. The thermometer I bought a long time ago said it was at 30 degrees below zero. I adjusted it up to 20 below and it has been running great. Thank You.
I took the part out of the box, opened the refrigerator and snapped the door shelf bin in place. Job done! Less than 5 minutes. I'm a 68 yr old women and did it by myself. Thank you. The price was excellent and I will definitely use your services again if/when needed.
Loosened the screws all around the door. easier if you take the door off the unit and lay it on a table. Cover the table with a blanket to protect the door finish. Old gasket just pulls loose. Press the raised bead on the new gasket under the plastic strip. Corners were the most difficult. Retighten the the screws and rehang the door. It took some practice to get the bead under the plastic strip.
The housing is not the same where the wires attach. I had to cut off the plastic shroud around barbs on start relay to accept the original larger wire end Fittings.
Just like the video , just pull out the crisper drawers and slide the new one in. I also made sue that I had a quilt on the floor in case I dropped the glass shelf. Also if you are not sure of the model number you can try calling the store where you bought the appliance at which I had to do. I bought it at Conns and they just needed the phone number I used when I bought it.
This did not fix the problem. Call a repairman and he cannot come until 9/11. Food is staying frozen. Alarm sounds for awhile and then shuts off for a bit.
