The rocker switch was broken
This particular Amana electric range has a "eye" that can serve as the heat source for a small or large pan simply by using the rocker switch to "flip" between "large" or "small." This switch broke. I found Partselect.com, found the part, ordered on Saturday night and received it on Tuesday afternoon. 1) Shut off power to the range at the breaker box. 2) Used a small flat-head srewdriver to pop the old rocker switch from the appliance. 3) Used a set of locking pliers to hold the wires in place as I disconnected the old switch from it's connections using a set of needle-nose pliers. (It was a plug-in style switch). 4) Plugged in the new switch. 5)Released the wires from the locing pliers. 6) Popped the new switch into the range's cabinet. 7) Flipped the breaker to "On". WORKS Perfectly

Stove would not heat up.Guessed it was element
Pulled stove well away from wall - took plug out of socket..Phillips screwdriver. Slotted element into wire thing-y - one connector fell down the back, so had to take back off the stove. Used tweezers to pull wire back into back of oven. Screwed plate over wire. Was thrilled when I turned stove on and element shone brightly. Husband away so had to do it myself. Had a glass of wine.

Erratic oven temperature, would not hold a setting or would get to that setting and then loose it shortly afterward.
Removed two screws on sensor in the oven. Pulled out stove and after unplugging same removed the back panel. Sensor has an electric connection on the rear of the oven with a connection that is easily separated. Threaded new sensor electrical connection through inside of oven and connected on the back of stove. Pushed insulation back around the wire were in goes through to the oven. Replaced back on stove and screwed in two screws which hold sensor inside the oven. Replaced back cover on stove, plugged it in and pushed it back in place. Did the trick for me..
