My dryer has begun making a squeaky noise when I first turn it on that lasts for about 20-30 seconds. It began a while ago with intermittent noise but now it has become pretty consistent. Is it likely to be the idler pulley, drum support roller, drive belt or should all be replaced? How do I confirm that is the issue before I just start buying parts that may not be needed.

Hi Michael, thank you for getting in touch. According to our research, first, you may need to check the drive belt, part number PS4133825, for any wear and tear. Over time, the drive belt can dry out or burn out and start to crack. Eventually, a piece of the belt can break off, causing the belt to make a loud noise whenever the motor is running. If the drive belt is not damaged, you may need to check the idler pulley, part number PS11771601. The idler pulley might be worn out, cracked, loose, or bent. Remove the idler pulley and inspect it carefully. If the idler pulley is not faulty, then you may need to check the drum rollers, part number PS4221885, which might be worn out. We hope this solves your problem!
This dryer drum will not start rotating until it is pushed a little while holding in the door closed switch. After it starts spinning everything is fine. Is there a start capacitor on the motor that turns the drum that might be bad?

Dryer's are pretty simple machines mechanically. Don't trash your noisy dryer. We bought ours in 2014 and it only recently started giving us issues. This is after 2 moves and being run daily for a family of 6. I'm glad I found partselect.com. They saved me a ton of money.
Watched a video on utube, how to repair my 16 month old steam dryer. The hardest part was laying on my belly holding the spring loaded tensioner and slipping the belt on around the blower housing. Only cost me $23. Winning!
