DSF25KGTABG General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

Just follow the instructions from the Youtube, the link to the video is included in the sheet coming with the part. It was easy to take the entire compartment out as instructed, however, after replace the old motor with the new one, it took more than 20 min to put the entire compartment back after trying different ways. It has been working greatly since it was repaired.

No tools needed - simply a middle hydrator drawer replacement. Pulled out old (broken) drawer and slid in new replacement.

had to rewire the harness in place in freezer. should have removed door for more room to work . easy job if you have 4 foot arms and a 1 foot chest.

I followed a set of instructions that were already posted by someone else. Take pictures to help you reassemble everything properly. The helix is held on by a plastic nut which has a left-handed thread. That nut is round (no flats for a wrench) and it would have required a special tool but I wrapped the thick rubber band around it and used the pliers to remove it without damaging it. The whole job took less than a half hour.

Watched the videos for replacing both the solenoid and the ice door flapper. Ordered the parts, watched the videos again and changed out the parts. I used a Philips head screwdriver and a little WD40 to clean up some rust. The instructions in the video were very easy to follow and simplified the process. PartsSelect's video showed the demonstration on a refer like mine as opposed to another site, which helped me be familiar whenI opened it up.

Found the problem, seen what it was looked up the part, watched the video was real easy to fixed so did it myself. If I would of called a repair man it would of been around $200.00 for everything I did it for the price of the part.

Pried out the old light switch, disconnected electrical, reconnected electrical in new switch, pushed new switch back into door.

Unplug refrigerator. Take off back plate with socket driver. Take screws off inlet valve. Then with bowl underneath to catch water, pull off hoses from compression fit. Then reverse to put back together. (Cleaned and dusted the back/sides of fridge too!)

The main control board is situated at the rear of the freezer bottom right hand side there are about 12 screws holding the cover in place a nut driver is perfect to speed up removal of this cover. At this stage you can see several plugs on the board remove as many of these as you can with the board still place however there are couple which cannot be removed with the board in place be careful not to pull on the wires when removing the pugs(don't worry about where they go as they are all different and will only go in one location) The main board is held in place by four nylon stand off posts with barb retainer clips to remove these you must squeeze the barb in with some pliers and lift the board at the same time I did the two at one end then the two at the other end once you have removed the board remove the remaining plugs the power in and the plug on the left hand edge of the board. The new board I received was slightly different to mine as it can be used on several models of freezers be sure to read the instruction that come with the new board to ensure you remove or install links as stated in the installation notes. Again you cannot get the plugs in the wrong place as they are different I was able to install most of the plugs prior to fitting the board on the stand off posts at this point care must taken to ensure all of the bunches cables are going to be clear of the cover this was most time consuming as there is a lot of extra wire, once this was completed I replaced the cover with a nut driver and tested the freezer with a thermometer placed in the freezer compartment after about 30 minutes the temperature started dropping (the compressor sounded different more powerful!! all done.

I followed the instructions on your YouTube video exactly and it was a snap. By far the hardest part of the repair was to fit the back tab of the fan assembly in the tight slot on the way out. The result was immediate and like having a new refrigerator. I'm a 68-yo retired woman but thanks to you I now feel empowered -- will tackle next appliance repair with confidence. Thank you.

I had called "Affordable Appliance" to send a repairman to assess our problem. A horrible man - rude, dirty, taciturn - came to our house. He took the cover off of the panel on the back of the fridge. He determined that the master control board had to be replaced. He demanded $630.00 to replace that part. I said "no thanks" and sent him on his way. I then called Part Select and ordered that same part. It cost $155.00 + shipping & handling. It arrived the very next day and I installed it in very few minutes and it is working perfectly. The gentleman who answered the phone at Part Select could not have been more helpful. He was wonderful.

Looked for source of burnt electrical smell. Strong odor from where circuit board is located. Removed board and found black burn area on back side of board. Ordered new circuit board and crossed my fingers nothing else was wrong. Replaced and works like a champ. $150 repair beats $2000 replacement every time. Wife not so thrilled. Was hoping for new refrigerator.

removed cover for main board, unplugged wires,pinched 4 clippes with needle nose pliers,removed old main board,installed new main board in reverse order. replaced cover and plug in fridge and everything was working like new

Replaced above parts and the noise problem was not resolved. Ordered a new motor, fan blade and another set of grommets from PartSelect. The parts were delivered the next day. Took me about 15 minutes to swap the new parts in. It's been 3 days since the repair and the noise has not returned.

Temp. Sensor was under an egg shaped cover on the left side wall in the refrigerator. Remove the cover, cut the two wires to the old sensor and remove it. Connect the new sensor to the two wires using butt connectors. Replace cover and done.
