CWG3100AAE Maytag Wall Oven - Instructions

It took all of 10 mins. Open oven door slightly lift to remove.took out shelves and bottom of oven,lift at back to remove.Two screws hold the Igniter, was able to pull the connector into the oven to change. Oven works great!

I unpluged the oven, removed the oven door by slideing it off the hinges, removed the racks, took the bottom pan out exposing the igniter,while attempting to remove the 2 screws holding the igniter to the bracket, I discovered that they where stripped so I had to use vise grips to remove them. I went to the hardware store bought replacements and installed the igniter. I then removed the protective cover over the wires, stripped them put on the wire nuts provided with the kit put the protective shield back pluged the unit in turned it on, checked it, then put it back together. The stripped screws were the only difficult part.

I removed the two screws that hold the element. This took most of the time because one of the screw broke. Then I unplug the power,took the igniter out and disconnect the wire and reverse the procedure.

First i removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the wire out of the hole and disconected the plug. then plug in the new one, put the two screws back in, and checked it to see if it worked,It worked like a new one! So as my reward my wife baked me cookies!

I unpluged the electrical cord first. Then pulled the stove away from wall. Next removed oven racks, the bottom of the oven. Then removed the deflector plate over the burner. The next step I removed the broil pan. Now the oven area is empty. Nice and easy to remove the igniter with nut driver. Two screws and wire nut that are behind the stove wall. Now I just reversed the procedure. Very easy. The only thing I'm not sure where the insulation block go's. The wires go through back oven wall hole. There was no insulation there before? So I put a small piece just behind the igniter over the wire. Will this catch fire I don't know? If someone knows let me know. Other than that it works.

Removed the two screws pulled the element out and unhooked the wires then used one of the included adapters to reinstall the new sensor then screwed the two screws back in to secure the sensor. Everything works fine now.

This is simple for most people - unscrew and remove the bottom oven floor pan. There is the igniter, removed with two screws with a 1/4 nutdriver. However, my problem was that when I unclipped the old igniter, I dropped the over part of the connection, it fell down the hole, through the insulation, to the bottom of the stove where the wiring is. I had to pull out the stove to get to the connection, push it back up the hole to the oven, then install the igniter. My advice: do no lose your grip on the oven wire whatever you do. Otherwise, it was a snap, even for a klutz.

I am so gald I found Parts select. I was going to order a Gas valve for $140. All the comments said the problem was a bad igniter. even though the igniter was glowing bright it was not drawing enough pawer to open the gas valve. I purchased the igniter installed it in 15 minutes and my oven works like new.

Compressed the springs and removed the damaged switch, then changed the wiring over to the new switch and press into place, worked fine.

Followed the excellent instructions on your web site. I removed the oven burner assembly to make it easier to install the new igniter. The connector on the new igniter matched the one in my oven exactly. It helps to have the oven light on!

There was a lot of trepidation about starting this project. What if this is the wrong part? What if I hook it up wrong? What if the gas line is not properly secured when I'm done? This is why it took my 6 months to start this project. I hesitantly looked up my product number online and partselect.com returned three of the top ten results so I clicked it. One of the best moves I've made. When the product was shipped, I received an email with a video attached that explained how to install the igniter. Remove oven door and bottom panel. Remove metal shield above the burner. Unscrew old igniter from brace. All this was straightforward. Then I found the old (long) igniter did not have a convenient plug that I could pull through the hole in the back of the oven. So I had to clip the two wires to remove the old igniter and stripped the insulation of these wires. Then I clipped the two wires of the new igniter since, unfortunately, I could not use the convenient plastic connector. I stripped the wires of the new igniter and connected both to the previously stripped wires coming through the hole from the back of the oven. I twisted on the ceramic wire nuts provided. It took 10-15 minutes or so to be confident these wire nuts wouldn't just fall off on their own. Then I stuffed the wire nut connections back through the hole, stuffed in all the insulation provided (necessary for the new (short) igniter!) and screwed the new igniter to the old brace. (I didn't need the new brace supplied or two long wires supplied.) Total time was about 70 minutes. The oven works well! This experience is much better than finding a repairman, scheduling the visit, etc.

Removing the oven door by partly opening it and pulling it up out of the hinge made access to the igniter much easier. Access to the igniter was easy. Just remove the baking shelves and lift out the bottom panel. I removed the two screws holding the old igniter. One screw was difficult to remove because of oxidation, and required some tinkering as the threads were stripped. But once the screws were removed, the igniter was easy to replace and connect to the gas controller with a simple plugin connection.

took oven door off, took oven racks out, removed heat sheild, took 2 nuts off ignitor, removed ignitor, gently pulled ignitor wire out from back of oven, unclipped wire, clipped new ignitor to wire harness, replaced nuts to install new ignitor, replaced heat shield. replaced oven racks, replaced oven door, tested to make sure oven lite, took about 10 minutes!!
