Ice maker did not work any more.
I unplugged the fridge. Then I removed the ice bucket. Then I removed the ice maker using a 3/4 socket to separate the connections and then used a small screwdriver to separate whatever connections were left. Then I installed the new ice maker and checked its level. Everything now works fine.

Broken light switch
Used the butter knife to pry the old switch out, it is a snap in switch so there is a small keeper on the bottom that needs to be pushed in to pop the switch out. Un hooked wires by pulling them off of the terminals (won't shock you) and put them on the new switch and popped it in

no ice ,dead ice maker
turned off freezer unplugged ice maker ,unscrewed 3 screws, removed ice maker, wiring harness and wire that goes up and down to control ice maker. installed all in reverse put back in and turned on waited and waited no ice ,theres a little control valve that let's the water in as well that was shot as well had to go get one at a local shop fairly interchangable just pull the other out and take with you,or just order one with your ice maker if you have the fridge out you might as well change it as it's just as old as the ice maker as well .everything pumping well, like never before, tons of ice all the time also put in filter on the water line as well really good tasteing ice now.

broken spring in the light switch in refer
Initially thought I could repair switch, but then discovered spring was broken. Ordered the new switch (Parts Select is very efficient - received switch in 3 days). Was encouraged by the posts regarding the switch installation. I had some difficulty removing the old switch. Used a pocket knife to ease the switch out of the hole to reveal the clip/spring. After noting the clip/spring location I used a small flat-blade screwdriver to release the clip. Even though I released the "molded" clip/spring(be sure to note where the spring is on the new switch and release it on the switch it was tight in the hole and had to use pliers to carefully remove the old switch. After removing the old switch, used pliers to gently remove the wire leads. Then install the leads on the new switch. Note the orientation for replacing the switch and gently feed the connecting wires into the hole so they won't kink or prevent the switch from entering the hole. Install the switch noting the clip/spring location and the orientation of the lever that the door closes on to turn off the light. Be sure to put it in without binding at an angle. Thanks to Parts Select for this service! I'll definitely be back.

Replace Ice Maker
The fix was relatively easy but I could not get 2 of the screws removed. They were in very tight and I didn't have the right tools. Also, in the Amana refridgerator, they are in a "difficult to get at" location. I called my plumber friend and he helped me. Once the screws were out, the rest of the job went very smoothly as others have described. We took out the bad icemaker and reconnected the new one to the existing harness. I had ice in an about an hour. Thanks so much, PartSelect. The delivery was quick and the install was as many described on your website. You provide a wonderful service for the "do it yourselfer". Noise coming from freezer section
Took freezer rack out of freezer, took 4 screws out of back freezer panel, removed ice maker plug from panel and pulled panel out only needed to get panel to come out so far pushed on clips to remove fan cover it's easier to get behind cover to push on these clips then it is to do it from the front of cover and these clips are plastic so they can brake easy when they are cold.I put freezer panel back in place the old fan blade came off fan motor shaft I took old fan blade out and installed new fan and put new fan blade on pushing it on till it stops on fan motor shaft, I put new fan blade clamp on used a flat tip screw driver to help a little bit reinstalled fan cover making sure clips on cover snap back in place put freezer rack back in and everything works great took about 15 to 20 minutes to do.

The ice tub corroded so the ice would stick.
Couldn't believe how complicated this part is with heaters. It is used in at least a billion refrigerators and functions well. But I had to tear it all apart to adopt it. Got it all done and stayed awake all night for waiting for Ice. Nothing! Then a Erika moment! Turn the ice arm full switch off! Then Ice poured out every hour. Expecting many years of ice. Thanks for speedy delivery especially before Christmas..

Ice maker was dripping water in two different area's
The repair was a lot easier than I thought. I first ordered the ice-maker part from PartSelect. Followed the instructions from the how-to video and I was done within 30 minutes. Unplugged the fridge, took out the two 1/4" nut screws holding up the ice-maker, disconnected the wiring harness and then re-attached the new ice-maker in reverse order. Had to use some of the parts from the old ice-maker, like the cover, ice wire (the wire that moves up and down, letting you know when the ice box was full or starts the ice-making process) The whole process along the PartSelect video made it easy.
