CSX22GRZBWW Hotpoint Refrigerator - Instructions

I spent 15 - 20 minutes just hunting/deciding which of several sets of parts & directions to follow. The provided directions were not bad; but none of them quite matched my GE ADORA side-by-side model. Once I came up with the actions I would need to take...I was done in 5 minutes! The kit , as I said, came with all the parts one could need (and one or two un-needed parts included for other model GE refrigerators) I am very happy with PART SELECT...altough GE doesn't rate as high with me for their declining reliability.

1. Watched the video on how to make the repair. 2. Used the tools recommended. 3. Followed easy instructions as demonstrated on video, and Viola! It was repaired.

I watched the "How To" video on the Parts Select web site twice. The video was very helpful, kind of like having someone right there with you showing you how to replace the hinge. I emptyed the door shelves, removed the top hinge hexscrews and easily lifted the door off the lower hinge, pieces of the broken cam hinge on the door fell off. I set the door on the floor in front of the sink with the handle edge on the floor. I unbolted the hinge and installed the new one. I loosened one screw on the door cam hinge and removed the other, easily replacing the broken part. Before tightening the screws I checked to make sure the hinge hole in the door was not blocked by the new cam hinge. I lifted the door and water ran out from somewhere. I tried to set the door on the lower hinge several times with no luck. I rechecked the hole, it was still clear. I tried placing the door on the refrigerator using the seal to hold it in place, that worked but I couldn't get the door to drop down onto the hinge. I played with it some more and finally got it in place, reinstalled the top hinge, mopped up the water and tried the door. It didn't self close. I adjusted the top hinge a couple of times and applied a little silicone to the hinges, it still didn't self close. I told my wife to make sure the door closes completely and reloaded the stuff into door. After a couple of days it now closes by itself like it's supposed to. In retrospect, I was alone doing the replacement and it really was an easy job but a second person to help line up the lower hinge would have helped a lot.

I followed the directions on the video. Although my dispenser was a little different, I was able to get to the faulty door in less than five minutes.

I followed the instructions on the video presentation, stopping the video each time until I had completed the described step. Only one minor change from the video...my refrigerator door (stainless steel) does not have the plastic edging around the control panel as shown in the video. It took me a minute or two to figure out that I had to push the tabs on the bottom of the control panel. The rest was easy.

I watched the repair video. Replaced the cam on the bottom of the door and the hinge pin. Now the door closes on its own, just like brand new.

unload freezer, take off back panel, be sure to unplug power, cut off wires to heater, strip wires and use wire nuts to install new heater and put freezer back together!

I followed the video instructions (very helpful) and used others comments for removing the control panel. For the latter I used a small allen wrench to carefully wedge the bottom two indents (look from below panel edge) slightly up and forward to release the panel. Next, after removing the four screws, the assembly (housing shield) removed fairly easily. I then had full access to the flapper and removed this carefully with the pliers so as not to damage the piece it was attached to (Dispenser Door Recess Crank?). The rubber outer flange on the otherwise plastic flapper was very irregular for approx. 1/4 of the circumference and thus did not seal. So far it's been one week and no more frost build up or frozen water dispenser line.

there was sa lot of ice stick on back pannal of freezer after 4-5 days switch off fridge 24 hours so the temp going up. I ordered part select o my god their service Is great I order timer and defrost heater with thermostat install very easy now since 6 days working perfect save more than 200 dollors thanks part select keep it up. tips-- open four secrews in back pannal of freezer two wires plug out heater will be come out if that is looks burn the change that otherwise timer defected

about every 5 to 7 days I had to take freezer panel off and take a hair dryer to get the ice out or fridge would get warm. Thanks to finding this sight and a little reading I replace the Defrost heater Harness which came with two Heaters and a Defrost thermostat. GE wanted $87 just to come out- Service Charge. Got part here for $54. There are two screws at top of freezer panel and two at bottom of panel. Removed and took hair dryer to get ice out -about 15 minutes. Replace heater harness. two screws on bottom heater and two screws on top heater. Wiring harness was already prewired. just had to take out the old one and put the new one in . Took about 5 minutes to put the two heaters in place, put screws back in and plug harness back up at top of evaporator. Very easy. put panel back on and done. Works great again. Found out one of the heaters was burn out -the bottom. Could have just got the bottom heater but would had to cut and splice wires. The wiring harness came all together. The Ice flapper was warped therefore, it was not closing well. Because of this, the ice dispenser got air in it and the ice cubes would deice causing to make a chunk of ice inside.I went on line, order the part ($5.75 + tax= $12.00) checked Part Select video and did it myself. It really is as seen on the video. It took me less than 10 minutes! I saved $200.00

Removed top hinge, lifted door from bottom post. Removed post with nut driver/socket, removed corresponding bracket/receiver from door. Attached new parts to refrigerator base and bottom edge of door. Was careful to replace part pieces in the same order as original, and secured tightly. Lifted door onto bottom hinge post, leveled the door and replaced top hinge.

i watched the free video and then made the switch my ice screw had 4 bolts instead of three that was the only difference used the screw driver to loosen the straps on the connection plug and that was it easy as pie in about 30 minutes i heard it drop a load of ice it beats filling ice trays all the time thank you partselect for the free video it was the difference in my sucess
