Retainer bar cracked down center
With the excellent diagram provided by website, I was able to order the correct part. This part was not difficult to install, but so happy to know that this website provides instructions for more difficult projects.
Discovered the coil was covered with 1/2 inch of ice because defrost cycle had not been working. Replacing the defrost timer and melting ice with hair dryer fixed problem. Hooray!
After waiting over 2wks for my part to arrive, I purchased the part locally and made the repair the same day as I am still waiting for the part to arrive from you guys. Your customer service really needs improving. I paid for 2 day shipping, what a joke. I will be returning the part as soon as I receive it thanks.
The retainer bar was so easy I installed it in less than 5 minutes. I highly recommend Part Select service including, ordering, their knowledge and expertise of their products.
Easy replacement, I did add some glue to improve hold. The new handle design was a little different and did not match freezer door so I had to change both. I guess that's why they sell as pair.
I moved into a house with two guys that would have never even thought of fixing the problem. I'm a girl and couldn't live with a fridge without all it's parts so I looked in other places and decided to buy from here because of the reviews. I got the parts in two days with no problems at all, they were easy to install and the fridge looks better and we can make better use of the space. I would recommend this store to anyone!!
I started look inside ,disconnected power, and open all possible compartments to see any burned part. Fortunately I fined a small part look like melted and then i went online and make my research .Then i ordered that part and change it.
bottom handle on my Frigidaire refrigderator broke
Open door and use a screwdriver to remove screws. SAVE the screws because the new handles do not come with screws. Rotate broken handle to the left and slide the handle to the left which should slide the handle off of the screw protruding from fridge door. To install new handle, repeat this process in reverse. Rotate new handle up and screw onto fridge door.
I simply loosened the screws holding the refrigerator door handle and then slid the bottom portion of the handle off from the screw holding it in place. The bottom portion of the handle did not exactly marry-up with door, showing a very small gap. I attributed this to the age of the appliance.
Since the glass was broken and gone I just had to slide the new glass on top of the crispers. This was not really a repair, just an exchange of new for the old.
