Run Capacitor

The function of the run capacitor is to help the compressor turn on and off while maintaining a constant temperature in your freezer. If you notice that your refrigerator or freezer is too warm, you may have to replace the run capacitor. This part is 1-1/2 inches in length and is made of black plastic with two metal prongs which connect to a wiring harness. The run capacitor is in the back of the refrigerator and is mounted to the condenser fan motor bracket with a 1/4-inch screw. You will need to remove the lower back panel of your refrigerator to access this part.

Power Cord

This heavy-duty cord has a three-pronged plug (2 electrical, 1 grounding). The power cord supplies power to your refrigerator, allowing it to keep the contents inside cool. There could be an issue with your cord if you notice that the refrigerator will not turn on, or intermittently turns on and off. Check the cord for fraying, or other visible damage. If the power cord shows any signs of damage, replace the cord immediately as it could become an electrical or fire hazard.
