The ice maker that came with the refig stopped working after 1 YR!
If you watch the video on PartsSelect that will give you a general idea of how to do the repair except mine was in a bottom drawer freezer. You have streach a little to get to the screws holding the ice maker to un-screw them just enough to lift the ice maker out.

Ice Chute Door broke off causing frost to build up around the chute
Repair was super easy. Assembled each piece as shown on sheet. Removed the drip tray and 2 hex nuts. Either get someone to hold the panel or, what I did was rest it on a step ladder. Inside you have to remove 3 more hex nuts--pull out the plastic housing and and snap the chute door in place lining up the three notches. Put everything back together and no more frost (or flies or gnats either, for that matter!).

Original ice maker was leaking from a cracked tray
It is a simple and quick repair especially if one is even a little capable. May take some extra care and thinking for one who is not but still should be fairly quick and without troubles. I am not happy with the product as it does not make ice even half as quickly as the original. Many have stated the first or the first few cycles are very long and then it became quicker and more normal. Its been a week and I also tried shut it off several times just to reset it. It makes ice wonderfully but takes forever. I've yet to have a full bin of ice. Even without using ice for a couple days or very little in a few days. I am considering returning it for this reason.

Ice maker was dripping and creating a giant ice block
I never would have imagined that my husband and I could replace our ice maker so easily. We simply fired up the step-by-step video on my tablet, paused it as we did each step and voila! Usually there is a lot of cussing with any repair we do and I don't think there was even one cuss word uttered. Thank you for the clear and concise instructions!

the ice maker door BROKE off
First I bought the 3 parts for the ice maker door & put that all together & tested it & IT DIDN'T WORK!! Then I reread what other people did & I ordered the solenoid, the hinge, & the spring. I remembered from my first go 'round to put a solid color towel on the floor to catch that pesky screw from the top right every time it fell. I know NOTHING about mechanics but this was nothing but common sense; almost like following the dots, except that I didn't know how to put the spring on, I had to figure out that the HINGE goes THRU the spring. Other than that, I think I just saved myself a $200 service call.

After several defrost thermocouple replacements, and determining the frig was running constantly, the freezer was not freezing, but full of ice behind the back panel, the frig was not chilling, the entire refrigerator was constantly running, non-stop, and after doing a bit more research on-line, I d
Thanks for the control board. However, it arrived in two days not overnight, UPS noted on their tracking site the error was their own. Also, the part did not come with installation instructions or programming instructions. Found on youtube a video that described in detail the programming procedure: . . . . . very helpful.

Thanks,
Marc

The ice maker stopped working and left "kling-ons" in the tray. At one time the trays kept trying to fill which only sent water pouring into the freezer compartment.
Searching Google and Youtube produced trouble-shooting guidance to first check the water inlet valve which I did. I should have realized the valve was working since the ice-maker was trying to fill the trays. Additional advice recommended skipping all the other component troubleshooting and merely replace the old unit which I did. The big difference with the Amana appliance was the icemaker was installed laterally in the back of the freezer rather than longitudinally with the end of the control wheel positioned towards the front of the freezer. This created a tight fit in removing the old unit, especially since the wiring harness was extremely short. The latter made access to the plug release catch difficult. I used a small flat blade screwdriver and worked mainly by feel to release the plug catch. Persistent wrangling finally got the plug detached and the unit free. The water inlet hose also had a rear access orientation while the replacement unit had access was from the side. The hacksaw blade was used to cut a pre-outlined access to allow the hose to enter from the rear as with the old unit. Once the shut-off bail was transferred, wiring harness reconnected, and water inlet positioned and clipped into place, the mounting screws were secured. Within 24 hrs the first ice cubes popped and the unit has filled the ice reservoir. Keep in mind I just ordered the icemaker and did not need any other add-ons like a different wiring harness which seemed to work fine. Confirm when you order you don't need any additional parts. Good service for PartSelect. I will use them again.

Freezer Super Cold, Fridge Hot. Ice on the back of freezer door.
I initially thought the defrost heater or sensor were bad and replaced them. About a week later the problem reappeared. I ordered the control board assembly and after arrival I did the following: Went on-line, located the part on the fridge parts diagrams and figured out how to remove the controller cover (use two flat screwdrivers from behind). After the cover removal unplug the two connectors and lift out the sensor from its mount. Remove the LED Display/Button Board then the microcontroller board. They literally lift out. With the new controller you have to gently break the display board from the controller - the board is scribed along the break-away area. Do this on a flat surface. The actual board installation and hook-up took less than 5 minutes to reassemble. MAKE SURE THE REFRIGERATOR IS UMPLUGGED - I should have said that FIRST.

Ice maker was leaking and needed to be replaced
I followed the instructions shown on the YouTube video on the Parts Select site. I had to make a few modifications. There were two nuts that had to be loosened to lift the ice maker off the freezer wall. The mounting bracket had to be transferred from the old icemaker to the new one to align with the hole in the freezer to reattach. The white wire went under the clip was a black wire but it was easily recognized. Other than that it was very straight forward and I had new ice in a few hours. I would definitely do it again.
