Oven light stayed on & smelled like electrical burning.
Wife was cooking our thanks giving turkey, when an oder of burning was noticed. I walked over to the oven and smelled the area of oven light, it was bad. I turned off and unpluged oven. Got a screw driver, unscrewed 4 screws then noticed the burned switch from under the oven top. removed 3 wires, covered w/ elec. tape, and pulled oven light switch out front. looked at part number and ordered online. We were able to cook our turkey and enjoyed our meal.
Baking element got fried and turned into a pretzel with a crack in one loop
Cut power to your oven in your circuit breaker panel Take out racks and bottom pan from the oven Remove 2 screws in element bracket at back of oven Lift element gently, tilt upward and pull towards you out of insulation Get the tilted wire connectors clear of the back panel Remove two wires from from connectors gently with your fingers Take bad element out of oven Replace it with new element Replace everything else Piece of cake. 20 minutes max: remove old; plug and play.
With no install instructions (NOT good for diy-ers), looked through reviews and watched video for help. Replacement part - not same as original. Had to use magnifying glass to id the terminals / take a picture before disassembly. reassembled - found out terminals are different & black wire is too short. Took off element - rotated the clips one number counter clockwise, reassembled - removed black wire from harness for extra reach. Hooked up, lowered top for test. power on - everything OK. Power off - complete assembly. Power on - test. Seems to be good. When I called customer service for assistance because there was no instruction, they told me I should contact a local appliance repair person. (big joke).
Both oven bake and broil elements lost power suddenly at the same time.
Installation of the temparature sensor, one of the technician recommended parts took no time, just two screws and a snap off/snap on part. It did not fix the problem. I then replaced the main control panel, which requires more work, but didn't solce the ussue either. I then replaced the thermal fuse, which wasn't mentioned by tech support, and required much more disassebly of the top panels of the stove, with still no fix to the problem. I am waiting to replace the thermostat heat sensor unit, the only other part in the circuit controlling power supply, requiring removal of the stove top again,
While removing burned out light bulb, the glass cover fell to the floor of the oven and broke!!
Husband very ill in bed. It's up to me!! Got a new bulb at HomeDepot and figured out how to get that wire 'thing' back in and the new glass cover installed. I DID IT!! WOW! My husband has always done these jobs around the house.......but now it's up to me.......and I'm not so dumb after all! I DID IT!! Now everyone who comes in the house.....I show them what I DID!! :-)
Dual infinite range switch on left front burner of glass top range would stay on full high no matter what setting was selected on the burner knob.
Remove 4 knobs from front of stove.
Remove plastic nuts that are directly underneath oven knobs. Loosen with plyers and unscrew.
Remove front cover.
Remove 8 screws holding down electrical panel. Remove panel. Remove 2 screws holding switch into place. Transfers wires from old switch to new switch so you hook them up correctly. Then reinstall in reverse order. Job complete in 15 minutes.
Removed screws on the sides and front. Labeled the wire sets connected to the front control panel. Gently lifted up the stove top and flipped it over on to a towel. Removed the piece of metal holding down the burner. Disconnected the cables to the old burner. Repeated steps above in reverse.
The part I ordered has 5 connections and the part to be replaced has 7 connections. I had to ask a friend who is expert in electrical wiring to help.
My friend used a tester to determine where each wire was supposed to connect to. I'm not sure what he did with the extra connections. Bottom line is this part should work but you need an expert to do it for you because it's, like I said, not exactly like the one to be replaced.
The bulb has a plastic clear cover. That cover can just be carefully removed using a screwdriver. It's held in by a metal bracket. After you remove the cover. You'll just need to replace the bulb and then re-install the cover and bracket.
