Motor hum on start-up
Trouble shot to failed motor. Ordered motor and new drive belt. The hardest part is figuring out how the dryer dis-assembles. Follow Parts Select on-line instructions. Also, several good instructional videos on You Tube! My recommendation is to order a new "blower wheel" when changing motor on a gas fired dryer. The heat combined with age bonds the blower fan to motor shaft. It had to be broken off in pieces to remove motor.

dryer wouldn't start
I found on youtube that there are directions to repair. Dryer problems are usually one of three things, the door switch being one of them. i checked this last (should have been first). ordered the part( about 65% off sear's cost) and it came in one day! It went on really easy as long as you knew from repair video how to access inside. almost spent $400.00 on a new one.

Belt broken & toe panel was loose
I followed the instructions supplied with the belt. I've changed the belt before so was familiar with the repair. The toe panel clips for my model had changed so what was supplied was different than the originals. Although they, too, came with instructions, they did not fit my appliance. They were inexpensive so I scrapped them and used some self-adhesive Velcro fasteners I had in a junk box.
