There was a warm spot at the front edge of dividing wall. The fan motor was not working.
I followed the directions of Steve on the installation video. He makes it easy to do the repair with his step by step description of the installation. I have repaired three different aging appliances with help of Steve and PartSelect's very helpful Customer Service. I wish Steve a wonderful retirement and hope PartSelect can find someone as easy to follow for future videos. The videos are priceless for the repairs.
I disconnected the old defrost heater removing 2 small screws and the electrical connectors, afterward I attached the new part, reconnecting back the electrical connectors and screwing the removed 2 screws.
Repair was not done using th part shipped. We went with the guide of the parts on the refrigerator. It would have helped if we could communicate (email or verbally)( with your parts center to verify the part we were ordering or on how to install it. We could wait for few days for a response. I am still waiating for instructions to return the part. It was a futile effort on both sides.
Your response would have helped tremendously..The picture was not adequate. Your group should be accessible to your customers.
40 year old refrigerator brittle light switch fell apart
with a jewelry screwdriver I pried the lock tab in and pulled switch down carefully, the hardest part was that the power wire connector was stuck on good but the pliers and the jewelry screwdriver was its match for a bout 5 minute for one connection a simple pull off prong connection. After the wire connected back to switch it popped back in SNAPP

Pulled the two wires out from the access hole in the lower part of the refrigerator. Put them in the spade connectors on the new switch, and pushed the switch into place.
First, I removed the broken end cap from refrigerator door. Then I snapped the new end cap into place. Repair took less than 5 minutes and required NO TOOLS! Easy!! Got my part in one day, Thanks.
