The agitator was not working in the washing machine.
I used the flat screwdriver to pop off the top of the agitator. then I used my socket wrench with extension to remove the bolt holding the top of the agitator to the bottom agitator. I pulled out the small piece that holds the agitator cogs. The agitator cogs were sheared off. I used my screwdriver to remove what was left of them, cleaned up the unit, then installed the new cogs. Re-insert the piece into the agitator unit and tighten the bolt back. Popped the lid back on top and ran a load of laundry to test. It works perfect! Although the teeth are pretty worn on the agitator as well, so I'm looking to buy a whole new agitator unit next. Very easy fix!!

A friend said his washer would not pump and mine would operate anytime with the lid up.
So we had two washers both with faulty lid switch assemblies. We watched your video and were able to change out the parts in one morning. Much shorter time than we estimated. Thanks for the right parts and the video.

Top half of agitator "Free Wheeling"
I viewed the repair video provided and then dove into the project. I am sorry to say that the time suggested for the fix was a bit misleading. Took me less than five minutes rather than the fifteen minutes suggested. Thanks Parts Select for a great assistance in saving me an expensive repair call!

A Good Fit
The most difficult part was aligning the two sides of the coupling. Disassembling the motor from the transmission was a snap. The replacement coupling was of higher quality than the original. It had metal bushings in the center holes, where they interface each driveshaft. The original did not. It was plastic.

metal reinforced coupling
The repair went very well as per the video, however the metal reinforced coupling only went onto the shaft half way. To ensure the coupling was flush with the top of the shaft I has to use a hammer and tamp the coupling onto the shafts. If you left it halfway on the shafts there was no room for the rubber spacer between the couplings. Other wise it operates very well.

Top of agitator would't turn
remove top cap on agitator, remove seal from inside of agitator tube( seal looks like garbage disposer stopper)now you see top of bolt head, use 7/16 socket with a 12 inch extension, hold bottom of agitator to keep it from turning while removing bolt, pull up on agitator top to remove, remove assembly that holds the cog's,slide off retainer ring, replace with new cog's, (when reassembling match pins in bottom part of agitator to slots in top part of agitator.)install bolt, install seal(use some laundry detergent so it slides in easily),put cap of agitator back on. that's it

Quit "Spinning"
You guys are "Awesome" I wish I had known about your site and watched the video's first!!! When my washer started acting up, I tore it down to parade rest trying to figure out why it wasn't spinning! Then I discovered your web site searching for help. Anyhow, it identified my problem, I watched the video on the most likely cause (the Direct Drive Motor Coupling), checked it out, and discovered one of the couplings was cracked and rounded out..... Thanks to you, the washer's fixed and I can't Thank you enough! Sincerely, Terry Kuster P.S. Everyone will know about your Web site. Thanks again!
