I followed the video step by step and than it became easy

1) Tilt washer back to get to pump and motor under washer. 2) Pop off clips with screwdriver, holding pump to motor. 3) Use pliers to remove hose clamps from hoses to pump. Use a small bucket to catch small amount of water in the pump. 4) Reverse steps to install new pump

My husband and a friend did the work. I was not there but was told that there was no problem. Everything is working well now.

this repair was for a friend's washing machine; I only knew that the lid switch was the problem because I spent too much $ having my washing machine fixed one month earlier. Same make, similar model. Unplug, remove the 2 end caps on the control panel..they unsnap easily. remove the 2 long philips screws at each end of the control panel near the bottom corners. these hold the control panel down. the control panel will now tilt up out of the way. the lid switch connector is a 3 pin connector near the center rear of the machine housing. disconnect. using a flat screwdriver, unsnap the 2 gold-colored steel springs near each rear corner of the housing. these hold the rear of the unit to the 1-piece front housing. keep in mind where the small flat part of each spring is inserted. after removal of springs, the entire front housing will lift off. the lid switch is attached with 2 screws to the underside of this housing. striped wire is ground, and is attached to housing. removal is self explanatory, and installation is the same. re-assembly is the same in reverse. the front housing sits on 4 small tabs at the bottom of unit. snap springs into place once housing is aligned, re-connect 3 pin connector, tilt control panel down and screw in place, and replace end caps. good luck.

This was a snap! I looked online for what the cause might be then looked for directions on how to replace it. Found exactly what I wanted and followed directions. Piece of cake. Instead of telling you how to do it..search on line for replacing lid switch assembly. Saved big bucks doing it myself!

When water began leaking from the bottom of our washer, I immediately thought it might be a leaking tub. But I did a little research on the internet and found out how easy it is to get into the machine so I could investigate the problem. When I found the source of the leak, it still seamed a little difficult to repair until I found this website. Not only did I find the part I needed at a fair price, but the video explaining the repair procedure was easy to follow. The repair itself turned out to be quite simple and easy. And the best part is that I saved time and a huge repair bill. I couldn't find a repairman quickly and I suspected they wouldn't even have the part in stock. Thanks, Parts Select!

The most difficult part was getting the back off the washer. The rest was pretty straight forward. My husband did the work in about 45 min. The part was around $20 so I guess we saved at least $200. I thought I ordered the wrong part and called to cancel but the customer service rep double checked and assured me it was the correct item. I received the part within 2 days. I was going to buy a new washer since this one is 20 years old but the plumber said it was a good one, better than the new ones out there. Great service, great selection, great price.

I googled the problem and up popped partselect.com with the part that was probably needed. The part was priced very low and shipped very quickly. After ordering on Tuesday I received the part on Friday. It was rated as being an easy fix. I watched the video provided and followed the video instructions step by step. The only hard part was snapping the motor clip back into place.

Following the very simple instructions from the internet, I moved the washer from it's space next to the dryer, removed the outer shell, removed and replaced the water inlet valve, turned on the water, checked for leaks, reinstalled the outer shell and the job was done. Total time from start to finish, approximately 20 minutes and this repair was made by an 82 year old man ( a former Marine!). The valve was ordered from PartSelect on the Memorial Day weekend and arrived the following Wednesday. The price, with shipping, was as good or better than any other source that I checked and shipping was extremely fast! I am not associated with PartSelect in any manner - just a very satisfied customer!

After determining which parts seemed to have failed and locating them on the PartSelect website, I watched the excellent installation video and read some of the customer notes on their repair experiences. I then followed those examples. One thing was different for me. The shaft bushings on the new coupling parts were a tight press fit on the motor and transmission shafts and could not be pushed completely into place with my fingers. After starting them with my fingers I used a 3/4" wooden dowel and light mallet to gently tap the parts the rest of the way on. If this happens to you, be careful to keep the dowel centered directly on the metal bushing and avoid putting pressure on the white plastic(?)coupling body. The washer works like new again.

I watched the video on line and followed the instructions which were VERY helpful. The repair went just as planned in the video and the machine is back in service working good as new. Thanks for the great help.

Replaced broken and worn wear pads per online instruction.also replace tub springs and counterweight spring.all very simple.

1) Using a Phillips head screwdriver, the two screws retaining the hinge pin to the lid were removed. 2) Remove hinge pin and tilt lid slightly to gain access to bushing hole. 3)Install new bushing in hole. 4)Reposition lid. Insert hinge pin through lid and into bushing. 5)Reinstall hinge pin retaining screws and tighten.

I watched the Video Twice and really this was an Easy Repair. The Clutch Assembly was Worn. Another thing was that one of the Mounting Bolts that holds the Transmission in Place was never Installed at the factory. This is very critical. This washing Machine always was kind of Noisy, but not no more. It Spins the water out of the clothes now and the Machine is alot quieter. At least a $600.00 Savings.

I completed the repair EXACTLY as shown in the YouTube video. I went Googling for some ideas when I came upon the PartSelect video which showed the repair being completed on the EXACT make and model of my unit. Screw Sears, which listed the repair as 'difficult'; it was easy! Nothing like seeing it done before attempting it. I am very pleased with both the product and the help!
