Dogears worn out
1. Removed the cap to the agitator with a flat tip scewdrver in the slot at the base of the cap. 2. Used a 7/16 socket with an extention to remove the hold down bolt. 3. Remove the bad part and installed the new one. 4. Reinstall the agitator.
With screwdriver removed the agitator top cap. Then with a 3/8 drive socket set removed the bolt holding the agitator assy. to the driveshaft. Removed the drive dog assy. Installed the agitator repair kit and put the complete agitator back together in reverse order. That was it! Works great
The little dogs in the top agitator were worn out.
Easy. I took the fabric dispenser off, popped the cap off the top of the agitator and my husband removed the big screw down in the hole. We pulled the thing apart, took the old part out, put the new part it, put it back together. The hardest part was getting the big screw loose. (That's where my husband came in.) My $75 washer I bought at auction works like a new one!!
The top of the agitator no longer would engage, the little ears were stripped
I pulled the top off ( the fabric softner dispenser) unscrewed the nut pulled up on the agitator replaced the ears put it back together. . It works just as good as a $75.00 an hour repairman could have done. And the wife wanted a new washer? Ha
took the cover off the top of agitator, removed 3/8" bolt that went through cam and secured agitator. removed agitator and replaced the 4 agitator dogs and cam. replaced agitator, tightened bolt, replaced cover. the washer works like new again? thankyou for your help and the correct parts.
Removed top agitator cover. Removed bolt and pulled out the cam holding the dogs. Assembled new cam w/dogs put in place and installed bolt plus agitator cap and was ready to wash.. Very Simple
I had to find a point of reference first since item came apart in wash cycle and internal pieces fell out - thank goodness for YOUTUBE. Another guy was thoughtful enough to do a video on how the assembly came apart / went back together - a huge help for sure. Actual repair was less than a half hour after obtaining new part and seeing video. The 12 year old washer works like brand new - saving me close to 1,000 dollar replacement charges.
Removed top of agitator, then removed the nut holding the agitator in place, pulled up the second piece of the agitator, replaced dogs and put the agitator back together
I followed the instructions and removed the old part. I assembled the replacement parts and installed them. I also watched a video of the repair before I attempted the repair. All in all it went very smoothly.
Im a 58 year old single woman. Swap out of pump motor was so easy. Took less than 15 min. Ordered the part on Tuesday it came the next day. I installed it and did 4 loads of laundry. Great company.
My kit didn't have instructions, and there was one thing not mentioned by others, so I'll pitch in this info: 1) pry off the agitator cap. 2) Removed the bolt with nut driver & lift out agitator. 3) Now, to get the cam assembly out, I had to use some long needle-nose pliers to snap off small horizontal tabs that extend from the old cam assembly. These tabs exert outward pressure on some vertical tabs that extend upward from the agitator base and hold the cam assembly in place. It probably wouldn't be a big deal if you broke off the vertical tabs by mistake, since the bolt would hold the cam assembly in place anyway. With the horizontal tabs gone, the old cam assembly can be lifted off the agitator base. 4) The new assembly can be put in place, but the vertical tabs just mentioned need to be positioned so that the new assembly can be slid over the top. If they are bent, the new cam assembly will not drop down in place! 5) re-assemble the rest. ALL IS GOOD!
