10661289101 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Instructions came with the part I ordered and they were very easy to follow. Basically you have to remove the cardboard cover from the back. Then you remove the four screws at the bottom (2 front, 2 back) that hold the bottom plate on. My husband tilted frig and held it while I put a block(4" x 1/2") under the bottom outside frame (not the bottom plate). You can see a ridge on the frame which is where I placed the block. My husband braced the frig the whole time I did the repair just to ensure it didn't fall on me even though it was blocked. The bottom plate didn't slide back at first. I took a flat screw driver and hammer and slightly tapped the bottom plate through the screw hole that secures the bottom plate to the frame. I tapped 2 or 3 times...gently each tap...until the bottom plate dropped down. Which was the 1/2" noted in the instructions. I then was able to access the front wheel, remove the pin and replace with the new one. We replaced both front wheels so I did not replace the bottom plate until we replaced the second wheel. We removed the block and tilted the frig to the opposite side, blocked then I replaced the second wheel. Once that was done I removed the block, my husband let the frig down gently and I went to the back and tapped the bottom plate forward. It didn't quite want to go back in place but with patience it finally and then was able to put all screws back in. Donna

I order the suspect part before pulling out the ice tray and whole ice maker for inspection. As it turns out my ice tray was peeling and all gunked up and I needed a new one. I suggest in the case of ice maker issues that you pull the entire ice maker before ordering what appears to be the troubled part. I had to replace the whole ice maker which was not really that much more money than just the part.

Unplugged the refrigerator removed the cover and 3 screws. Pulled the old part off and replaced with the new and screwed it back on. Replaced the cover plugged it back in and it started working again.

Removed hinged door from front of ice maker. Removed screws from bottom of ice maker. Removed ice maker unit and replaced control board. One pin connection was burnt. Reassembled unit and it works fine.

Very easy to do. Crisper frame just snapped in and fit well.Very happy with results.

I decided not to open the package containing the Control and motor asm because the old one looked like it was cycling properly. I chose to try the inlet valve first, so I ordered the inlet valve and returned this part unopened after replacing the valve asm. It took a week to receive this part and just two days to get the valve.

Looked up the refrigerator model number, found parts break down and ordered wheel assy...thought it was the wrong but wheel size was right...read the instructions (good thing) and found out you had to slide entire bottom panel out 1/2 inch to access a hidden pin...did as the instructions said, slid out the bottom panel, found pin as advertised, removed pin, broken part fell out, replaced the wheel assembly, repinned, slid the bottom panel in (a bit more harder than getting it out), replaced all screws and was completed in about 40 -50 minutes. Good thing it came with instructions!!

1.Slid out old cracked drawers 2.Slid in new crisper drawers Simple! It took longer to open the shipping boxes than to install the new drawers! Problem solved! If only all fixes were this easy!!

Removed the drawer. removed the frame washed the glass that was fine. put the frame in place put the glass on top slid drawer in place. and I was done.

Sorry for delay in writing. Part I ordered arrived two days ago and it was exactly what I needed. Knowing that there will be problems even with the smallest job I procrastinated starting. When I did start this morning I foud I had to completely remove the ice maker and disassemble it in order to install the water fill cup bracket. The challenge was reassembling the unit. Not hard for an experienced repairman but a challenge for layman. Everything is thing is back to gether now and power on cooling down the refrigerator. Won't know how successful it was until turn on water and ice is formed. If it works this saved $75 just to get a Sears repairman to come out and tell me what would be needed to fix the refrigerator and $1,000 if I had to buy a new refrigerator. Extremely satisfied with service I received. Thank you.

Greatest thing about this company was properly describing in an easy clear manner along with the video. A picture is worth a thousand words. A video is worth? Disconnecting wires in back of freezer was a little hard. I didn't know you would have to wait for a complete cycle before the water would fill and make the first batch of ice. I thought it was not hooked up properly and took it back apart. This time I left it, waited and in a few hours, it started making the first batch of ice. Great company, price and fast shipping. Found Parts Select through their repair videos on You Tube. Watched a repair video and thought I can do that. Checked the refrigerator and ordered the parts. The Whirlpool parts drawings from the manufacturer were not detailed, so I ended up ordering duplicates by accident. The parts got here super fast and the repair was super simple. Used the nut driver to remove the back panel and used the screw driver to pop off the cover. I changed out the capacitor, overload and relay....all from Parts Select. I did have to use a zip tie to hold them on due to changes in parts over the years. I did custom cut the cover to allow room for the zip tie. The refrigerator started right up and began cooling. I replaced the back cover and it has been chillin' for two weeks solid. Easy repair, Great Service, Easy return of the duplicate parts. Fantastic!!!!!!

Put in new motot and control

Removed 3 screws pulled out the old part and replaced it with the new one. Then plugged in the refrigerator and the repair was complete.
