remoove all the food and shelves out from the freezer section, remoove the light bulb lens ( 1 phillips screw) remoove light bulb, take out 6 srews on the back panel then slide out through the top with a slight bending curve motion, the bimetal thermostat will be clamped to the evaporator inlet, ( just after the cap tube) snap it off, then cut the wires about 2 inches from the stat, strip the ends about a quarter inch with wire strippers, same on the new stat, then use 16 or 18 gauge butt splices and crimp them , then reassemble in reverse order.

Followed instructions in video and instructions by other home owners. Installation went very well. Parts Select shipped the repair kit. A good company to do business with. Saved a lot of money by doing the repair myself.

I changed out the complete ice maker by first un-plugging fridge from the electrical outlet,then taking out the three screws holding the ice maker in place, unplugging electrical connector that operates the module and then removed by sliding ice maker away from fridge. Replaced old ice maker and re-plugged connector. Screwed ice maker back into place and plugged fridge back into outlet. Within 5 minutes we could hear the water dispenser filling the ice maker. Within another hour we had our first batch of ice.

The repair went just fine. Your instruction regarding using the wiring harness were clear. Most of all I am happy to not have to listen to a noisy motor all night.

Watched the video that was attached to my order confirmation (great idea) and just followed it step by step. Real easy repair since I had tried to fix the noise first without ordering parts, so I knew what I was doing Did a temporary fix which quieted it down while I waited for the parts and then the repair itself was pretty straight forward.

disconnected el. power to fridge. pried out broken switch with small screwdriner and pulled out w/water pump pliers. installed new switch and pressed into opening.

I tried WD40, it worked for a day. Got a new part from PartSelect.com and was a good brand. Panasonic. Easy fix and works great. Saved a bundle. I priced a new fridge, no way, this was better. Thank you Partselect.

The part arrived very quickly. I set up the laptop computer on the counter and started the instruction video (THEY ARE THE BEST!). With just a few starts and stops of the video during the installation in less than 15 minutes the repair was complete! The next day I had more ice than I needed. What a fabulous way to make appliance repairs at minimal cost! I will ALWAYS use PartSelect for any future repairs. I should also tell you that a 70 year old Woman did this repair - easily! If I can do it so can you!!

I tried to just replace the cover rather than the whole unit but it was impossible - the cover would not go/stay on. I tried to remove the old unit completely but it would not unplug it was practically fused to the back of the fridge and the liner was cracking. I ended up breaking the cover and jerry rigging it over the bulb to prevent items in the fridge from being able to touch. Bad solution.

Replaced Ice maker unit

Sorry for delay in writing. Part I ordered arrived two days ago and it was exactly what I needed. Knowing that there will be problems even with the smallest job I procrastinated starting. When I did start this morning I foud I had to completely remove the ice maker and disassemble it in order to install the water fill cup bracket. The challenge was reassembling the unit. Not hard for an experienced repairman but a challenge for layman. Everything is thing is back to gether now and power on cooling down the refrigerator. Won't know how successful it was until turn on water and ice is formed. If it works this saved $75 just to get a Sears repairman to come out and tell me what would be needed to fix the refrigerator and $1,000 if I had to buy a new refrigerator. Extremely satisfied with service I received. Thank you.

Removed (snap on)removed screw, and ice dispencer side (door and Pin) You have to assemble to reinstall (not easy to install while assembled) Install the pivot pin the rest of the way with the new spring mounted and when unit is almost in place, install the pivot the rest of the way, install tension hold downs that old both the water and ice dispenser shafts, reinstall cover, reconnect wiring and test, I had to remove the plunger because the water wouldn't shut off fast enough. Unit works great now.

Hi, this was an easy repair job. And, after I was done I felt like McGyver. It took me about 1 hour. The hardest part was getting ice maker's power source disconnected. That was tricky; you have to remove the housing that covers the power connector.

I called the 800 number and the lady was great to work with and helped me thru all the order process and confirmed the numbers. She also told me she would try to get the order out that day which she did and I had the part two days later. When it arrived I went to the web site and reviewed the video and went to work and all went as the video said. Thanks for the help and if i need another part I will visit your site or call.

I was ready to spend the $$$ on a repair person when my wife (smart woman) suggested I go on line to see if we can fix it ourselves. I (luckly) found your company and your website made it easy to find the right part plus as an extra bonus you had a video that showed how to switch out both control boards. To top it off, the package came so fast ( the next day - even with standard shipping ) I did not think it was the parts. 10 or so minutes with a Phillips screwdriver and we were back in business.
