Broken Dryer Knob
First let me just say that Partselect.com is now one my stored favorites in my web browser. I came home from a business trip and saw a pair of pliers on the dryer. I thought that was odd until my wife informed me that the knob on the dryer had broken. So she was using the pliers to select the cycle. Somehow she knew where the missing pointer was actually pointing. Since the dryer was over 5 years old I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade both appliances. Not with my frugal wife. A search of the Internet popped up partselect. I ordered Wednesday morning and the parts where on my doorstep late Thursday. Trust me I was very surprised. Everything worked perfectly. Two thumbs up!!!

Freezer handle came loose on one side
Discovered that the seating in the handle was stripped on one side so removed the old handle (toughest part of the repair). Based on a previously asked/answered question, the PartSelect website provided an accurate list of the required parts (and corresponding part numbers) so I had everything I needed. Installing the new handle was very straightforward and quick.

Jenn-Air Range Screw, Igniter
- Removed te two Torx screws.
- Pulled the burner a couple of inches to be able to disconnect the wire.
- Spent a lot of time removing the small Philips screw holding the ignitor. Ended up breaking the ignitor with pliers to be able to put WD40 under the screw's head.
- Treated all screws with a high temperature copper paste to prevent oxidation.
Installed the new ignitor with the new screw.
- Reconnected the wire.
- Installed the two Torx screws.

Range door would not close correctly. Spring loaded latch was bent.
Look up Whirlpool parts and was able to order parts thru PartSelect.Item were deliver with in three day. I was able to watch the video provided my PartSelect on how to replace the spring loaded latch. The job was easy and I was able to install the range door. Thank you PartSelect.

Remove the door from the hinges. Then remove all the screws from the four outer panels. The glass window will fall out, be careful. It's OK, though, it probably needs cleaned like ours did. The new handle is now easily replaced. However, the replacement handle has cheap, plastic attachment points, vice the original's metal ones (which broke after a couple years.) As I was screwing in one of the new screws, I felt it already stripping...at least I now know how to replace the handle when it breaks again.
Partselect.com beat Maytag on the overall price. Maytag sold the handle cheaper but the screws were three time the cost and shipping was twice the cost. I bought the standard shipping (2-3 days) , but the part came the next day! Yea Partselect!!

The handle on the upper oven broke off at both attachment points.
The repair process is not logical. It appears as if it were engineered for the average person to not be able to fix it. After searching on the internet for a very long time, we were almost ready to order the screws "blind" (no picture) from Sears for almost $10.oo per screw. Then I stumbled onto this website and found exactly what I was looking for, with a detailed description AND a picture!! Not to mention a price that was two thirds less than Sears..for TWO screws. Now the oven door is secure and we are no longer on our search for the right screws.
