This part is a replacement light socket for your refrigerator. It connects to the power source, and holds the light bulb. If the light in your refrigerator is not working, you could have a faulty socket. It is important to determine if the light bulb is simply burned out, or if the socket is causing the issue. Be sure to disconnect your refrigerator from the power source before you begin this repair. This socket is black in color and is sold individually. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

No power to the fan and compressor
I have a fridge in my garage. I have found that a glass of ice water or a cold drink outside is very important to me. When I discovered melting ice dripping onto the garage floor I was very upset. I spun the fridge and found that the compressor and fan weren't starting. I got out my multi-meter and discovered that power was not making it to these components. I did some research and found the wiring diagram online. There really isn't too much going on with a fridge and the most likely candidate seemed to be the run capacitor. I ordered the part, replaced it in a few minutes and the fridge began working again. Read more...

I Placed A Heat Gun In The Freezer Section To Defrost The Coils And Did Not Return In Time. The Heat From The Heat Gun Rose Upward And Melted All Of The Soft Plastic Parts. The Good News Was That The 16 Parts Were Not Expensive But The One Main Part That Was Needed To Put It All Back Together Took 3
I replaced all of the plastic parts as well as the heat coil that is mounted at the bottom of the coils that keeps the coils from freezing up. If I had not melted the plastic parts the coil could have been replaced in 2 days, 1 day to receive the part and the next to do the work. This is the second time I have had to replace this heater. Frost in ice chut, flapper hanging partially open.
Removed control panel, snapped out pretty easy. Removed flapper assembly (4 small screws). My spring was broke but it ended up being the solenoid assembly after I replaced the spring, door crank, micro switch and flapper it was obvious the solenoid was hanging up. I had to go back an order it but it was at my door 2nd day (quickly). I took the time to clean the area with Tylex (some mold), and everything went in easily. I didn't really need the new flapper, crank, and micro switch but they were fairly cheap and then all is new. We use our ice dispenser a great deal so I didn't want to have to go back in and fix a part I "should have" replaced. I used Part Select for my washer motor as well. Doing both repairs myself probably saved 3 or 4 hundred dollars easily. Read more...

The refrigerator door side of the side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, bottom cams that auto close the door were broken.
First, I removed all items on the door shelves and the shelves themselves to reduce the weight of the door. Second, I removed the cover on the top hinge assembly and removed the two screws that secured that hinge. Third I lifted the door from the bottom hinge assembly and placed the door horizontal on the kitchen table to all easier access to the bottom of the door. I then removed two screws holding the door closing cam and shim and replaced them with the new parts. Next was to removed the old hinge assembly on the refrigerator itself and replace it with a new hinge assembly. All down hill from this point. Time to reinstall the door, aligning the bottom of the door cam over the hinge assembly and setting the door down on it making sure the door sets on the hinge assembly cams. To the top of the refrigerator. reinstalled the top door hinge assembly and cover, job complete. Total time from start to finish including cleaning the inside of the door and shelves about 30 minutes.

As for the replacing of the light lens in the freezer section. This was almost to easy. I removed the ice drawer from the freezer which exposed the one phillips screw that holds the lens in place. Removed the screw and what was left of the old lens, inserted the new lens from the underneath the ice drawer compartment and screw, replaced the ice drawer and, the task was complete. Total time about 5 minutes.

Freezer would not auto defrost. Food side would be warm.
Your customer installation comments were very helpful. After unplugging the unit, I took out all the freezer shelfs and the back panel (4 screws). I hadn't realized the coils were also covered in solid ice. It took awhile to defrost with a hair dryer, and I needed to use more than one towel to soak up the melting ice. Locating and splicing in the new thermostat was very easy. I used "cold weather" electrical tape to splice the wires back together. After reassembling the back panel and shelfs, I snapped in a new light shield that had been broken for awhile. It's been over a week now, and I do not see any problems. Overall, it was a easy fix. Just took a little time to defrost the coils.
