Is there any possible way to order just the black plastic pieec that is attached to the end of this oven lock. It seems outrageous to have to buy the entire lock mechanism just for the little plastic part at the end; because it snapped off. Please let me know and thank u for your time.

Does this assembly come with new wires as well or can you order them separately?
PartSelect logo
Hi Evan, thank you for your question. It does not come with the wires unfortunately. They would have to be ordered separately and are likely part of the main wiring harness for your appliance. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

How can i install the door lock switch and motor assembly if i can't open the door? Is this the right part # wb14t10053 thank you

Hi Larry, Thank you for your inquiry. To open the locked door pull the oven from the wall and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Remove the back panel to gain access to the lock motor assembly. Remove the screws holding the door lock assembly in place. Release the door latching rod by pulling the lock motor assembly down and tilt the front inwards. This will allow you to unhook the locking rod from the drive cam. Push the rod forward and open the oven door. Note the position of the drive cam and the hole the locking rod fits into. Remove the Philips screw holding the drive cam on the motor. Remove the drive cam and rotate it 180 degrees from where it was when the door was locked. Line up the 2 slots on the bottom of the drive cam with the post on the motor shaft. Push the drive cam down and lock it on the motor shaft. Make sure that the switch is aligned with the side edge of the drive cam. Reinstall the Philips screw on the cam. Rehook the locking rod on the drive cam. Install the motor bracket assembly back on the range. If you have a bad door lock your door is going to lock again the next time you run a cleaning cycle. You will need to test the motor with a multimeter to check teh continuity of it. Disconnect power before checking continuity. Locate the 2 electrical wires going to the lock motor and disconnect them. Set your meter to the Ohms of resistance on the 20000 Ohms scale. Place one meter lead on each terminal of the lock motor. If you get no continuity, which would be a one on the far left corner, then the lock will need to be replaced. If the lock reads about 2000 Ohms on the multimeter then the lock is good. If the lock is good you will need to check the wire connection with the electronic control board and the electronic control board as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
