WITH NEW PART IN HAND, IT WAS EASY TO SEE WHAT REMNANTS OF OLD PART REMAINED, AND HAD TO BE REMOVED BY PLIERS OR VISE GRIP. ATTACHMENT THREADS WERE NOW VISIBLE. INSTALLING NEW PART WAS NOW EASY: JUST SCREW IT ON BY HAND.
