Turned off the power at the stove breaker. Removed all racks. Used nut driver to remove the two (2) mounting screws. Not knowing what's behind I gently pulled the old element out.I used two large heavy duty paper clips to hold the short power wires until I got ready to install the new unit. The procedure went really well. The unit works good and the temp is right in sync with a manual thermometer.By the way,I did remove the oven door first.
