I took the front cover off of the dryer; removed the front circular drum support; removed the blower wheel cover; replaced the blower wheel; and reassembled. This completely eliminated the loud vibrating noise - to the point that it is now running so quietly that my wife keeps thinking the dryer isn't working since she can't hear it from 3 rooms away. Overall, a fairly straightforward repair.
