The p-trap drain tube kit may also be known as the duck bill, or the drain pipe, and it is compatible with your refrigerator. The function of the p-trap drain kit is to carry the water that has formed during the defrost cycle to the bottom of the refrigerator, where your drain pan is located. The tools you will need for this repair include a 1/4-inch nut driver and a small flat-blade screwdriver. To do this repair you will need to pull the refrigerator forward in order to reach the lower access panel at the back. This kit includes the tube extension piece and spacer.

If you notice that your ice maker is not making or dispensing ice, or is leaking, you may need to replace the water fill tube. This water fill tube kit comes with a fill tube and a compression nut. This part is made of white plastic and is approximately 10 inches in length. The ice maker water fill tube is in the rear of the fridge. Broken elbow on icemaker water fill tube.
Removed 2 screws holding water fill tube to rear of refrigerator and pulled out, matched old part with new to make sure of proper match. Guide new fill tube thru hole, making sure it is aligned with slot in ice cube tray on inside of freezer. Install new plastic line from water pump outlet to water fill tube, check for leaks, job done. Read more...

water dispenser started leaking
i wasn't sure it was the inlet valve unit because the leak was at the water dispenser in the freezer door. after some research it looked like the water inlet valve located in the back lower part of the refrigerator was the problem. to replace, take off the cardboard cover, about 6 screws, you have access to the water inlet valve, disconnect the hoses (i think it goes without saying that you should have turned off the water to the frig) replace the inlet valve, connect hoses, turn water back on and you'll be back in business. very easy repair. Had to replace a hose connector at the base of my refrig/frreezer
Perhaps a helpful hint:

When aI received the hose adapter/connector, I inserted the 2 hose ends only to have water drip from the connection.
I used a utility knife to remove an inch from each side, then reinserted the hoses. That made the differnce. Dry as a bone.

The tunes were moldy and the pump didn't work.
The repair was fairly easy. Take out screws and lift top of ice maker but do not take off. Having 2 people to do this helps. Clean all parts with calcium deposits. Replace all moldy or broken parts. Some parts are harder to replace. The back screw of the pump is difficult to install. Use a magnetic screw driver for help holding the screw. We used a little wax to keep the screw on the driver. leak from back of refrigerator where water line enters ice compartment
replaced old water fill tube for ice maker because it would clog with frozen water which would result in leaking from back of refrigerator where water line for ice maker entered refrigerator. Parts arrived faster than anticipated from parts select. New part was made differently (up-graded) so that water would not freeze. removed old fill tube and replaced with new. replaced water tubing and secured. leak is no longer present and I do not anticipate further issues from this problem. Water leaking from bottom of fridge
The line going from the ice maker fill valve ruptured and leaked water on the floor. The outlet fitting for the ice maker water inside the freezer was plugged with ice which caused the pressure to build up in the line and rupture it. The discharge tube inside was full of ice because the ice maker fill valve was old and was leaking ever so slightly. This allowed water to exit into the discharge tube gradually and build up ice to the point of blocking the discharge tube. Read more...

Removed the face plate. Removed a few screws and unpluged a few electrical connectors and pulled apart. Removed the holding bracket and clear tubing from door. Cut new tubing at an angle to push through conduit. Reinstalled new bracket and re-installed electrical connectors. Snapped face trim on and bleed air out of system. . Water ran great. Read more...
