This washer electronic control board serves as the central processing unit for managing cycles, settings, and key functions in select washing machines from Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, and related brands. It interprets user inputs and coordinates components such as the motor, water valves, and sensors to ensure proper operation. A faulty control board may result in issues like failure to start, incorrect cycle behavior, or persistent error codes. Replacing this OEM part restores reliable performance and functionality. Always disconnect power before installation and verify compatibility with your specific model.

Intermittent Starts and washer not going through the cycles properly
Pulled the washer away from the wall to get adequate space. Unplugged the power cord. Place the drain line from the wall into the washer's interior to prevent spills. Removed the plate behind the washer and the control panel using a nut driver. Took a picture so I knew where all the plugs go after installation. Then, I unplugged all wires that went into the control board. Then, I removed the control board while using needle-nose pliers to depress the restraint clips. Reassembled everything in the reverse order. Read more...

Washer would not wash on "normal" cycle. Had to play with the knob to get it to run at all. Washer would not drain properly either.
I unplugged the washer from the electrical outlet.

I then removed the drain hose from the wall drain to allow me to turn the washer to gain access to the the back panel.

From the front, I then removed the plastic timer knob from the timer by unscrewing it. Then I pulled the plastic plate with the arrow on it to remove it. This exposed the screws that attached the timer to the control panel. I left them attached.

I then removed the two screws on the bottom of the front of the control panel (on each end) that attach the control panel to the washer.

I then went to the rear of the washer and removed the two screws on the top of the rear of the control panel.

I went back to the front and pulled the control panel forward and up to release it from the washer.

I then removed the two screws (that were under the plastic plate) that attached the timer to the panel and removed the timer from the panel.

Then I unplugged the wiring harness from the timer and removed the timer completely.

From there I reversed the procedure to install the new timer and knob.

washer would not run
First, I removed the two screws that hold the back-top in place. I removed the top to get to the control timer. I replaced the control timer with a new part and replaced the lid switch (which I broke removing the old one). Put it all back together and still nothing. I removed the two spring U clamps at the top back that hold the entire casing in place. I removed the casing. I checked out the wires leading to the motor and the white wire showed signs of a burn. When touching this wire it broke off. I used a pigtale from the connector to the old wire, soldered it in place and put it all back together AND, WOW, LUCKY ME it has been working since.
The parts I ordered on Monday, came to my house the next day and I did not pay for additonal shipping. I returned the timer and the $ was credited to my account in about one week. Partsselect is about the best experience I have had on the internet.

washer not cycling or working on all cycles.
On my model You have to first lift the control panel in order to remove timer knob.I removed control panel by prying on the ends of panel one at a time with putty knife and rag to keep from scratching washer. I then use needle nose pliers to pull plastic under side of knob while pulling on knob which is the trickiest part of the job as knob will not come of til it is pulled from underside with needle nose pliers to release it then its easy from that point to disconnect wires and slide timer to the left to unlock it and in stall new timer. You have to take your time doing the repair and it will work out better for you. After replacing timer machine works on all cycles and completes entire cycle. Washer stops on 1st spin/drain cycle
Unscrew timer/main control knob, then remove 2 spacers behind the knob. Remove 2 main control panel screws at each front lower corner. Rock panel back (pull slightly forward before rocking back to release plastic notches) to expose wire harness and timer. Remove 2 screws holding timer and disconnect timer electrical connector. Put new timer on with screws and attach connector correctly. Rock panel forward into place and reattach panel screws, spacers and knob. Note: Make sure lid switch is working properly before assuming the timer is bad. My switch is also intermittent and needed a shim on lid male plastic piece to engage the switch plate. Read more...
