Blown Oven Control Board
After removing the back of the range the oven control board was visible and accessible by removing four nuts. There was some resistance removing the leads from the oven coils and light-bulb mechanisms but with some leverage and pliers they came loose. The only challenge was the face plate of the unit is attached using adhesive and needed to be carefully peeled off and added to the new oven control board. Getting this right was just a matter of taking time and lining up the components correctly. After applying the face, the new control board went right in. I reattached the back, plugged the unit back in, and the over has worked great for the past week. Part select being able to identify the part numbers listed from the component likely saved me at least $100 of having a GE certified repair technician come in.

Oven elements would not heat
Initially, I tested the temperature sensor and it was OK. I pulled out the range and shut off the circuit breaker to it. I removed the upper back sheet metal panel to expose the clock timer. I removed the 4 screws to it, unplugged the wires to it and plugged them into the new clock timer. I carefully removed the plastic facing stuck to the face of the old clock timer and stuck it on the new clock timer. No new adhesive was necessary. I placed the newly connected clock timer in position and secured it with the 4 screws that secured the old clock timer. I pushed the range back into position and reset the circuit breaker. I turned the oven on and the problem was resolved.

We had a transformer go out in our block and made a surge which blew out the electronic oven control
The repair of the oven was really easy . I removed a total of 7 screws with a 1/4 inch nut driver to remove the back cover of the instrument panel. I then unplugged the wires from the from the oven control and with a phillups screw driver I removed 4 screws that hold the oven control, the face plate with the words on it has to be taken off the old control and put on the new one . I then installed the new oven control by putting the 4 screws back on and plugging back the wires. I then replaced the back cover with the 7 screws and plugged the power back in the outlet, The clock has to be adjusted and your done.

Range Electronic Control Board
Replacing control board was surprisingly easy as well. Just take a photo of where all the wires connect (only two to unplug) and use a putty knife to remove the touch pad (doesn’t come with new control board). The touch pad was still sticky so it adhered to the new control board with no issues. Then plugged oven back in. Voilà! Oven worked again! Read more...

Needed to change electronic control board
Unplug appliance. Removed back plate cover with 1/4" nut driver (6 screws). Removed old control board with Philips screwdriver (4 screws). Pulled out 5 old connectors. Were a little difficult to get out, had to delicately use a flat head screwdriver to pry loose as not to break the connector. Installed new overlay on new control board (I recommend getting a new overlay and not using the old one, its easier). Reinstalled new control board with 4 screws. Reconnected the 4 connector parts. Installed back plate cover 6 screws. Plugged in and all worked.
