Refrigerator is cold but evaporator fan runs constantly. Condenser coil is clean. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question. The evaporator fan is used to draw air over the evaporator coil and circulate the cold air throughout the fresh food and freezer compartments. If the evaporator fan does not work then the control thermostat or sensor may not correctly sense the temperature and the compressor will continue to run longer than normal. The fresh food and freezer compartment temperatures will increase as well. The evaporator motor and fan are located in the freezer compartment and you can normally here the motor or feel the air movement when running. If you suspect that the fan motor is not running properly, then turn off the refrigerator and remove the evaporator fan cover. Verify that the fan blade is secure and that the motor is not seized. You can check the motor for continuity with a multi-meter. You can also verify that power is applied to the motor when the compressor is running. This is a live voltage check and should only be performed by a qualified person. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Compressor not coming on at all. Should i be able to measure voltage on the power connector that plugs into the compressor start module? 2 wires, red and white, i get no voltage there? Everything else seem to have power, inside light, lights on front freezer door will come on when switched to on. I have continuity on the module when testing with meter, just seems no power is getting to it.
For model number IS25AGXRQ00
Hello Anthony, thank you for contacting us. This sounds like its going to be either the start device or the capacitor on the compressor. It needs these parts to help boost the power to start up. The start device and the capacitor can be tested with a multi-meter to determine which is at fault. Hope this helps!
After hurricane irma, plugged refrig back in after power restored. No cooling. Everything is working, lights, fan, etc. Compressor is hot but not running. How does one check the starting capacitor and the starting kit device. Or is the starting device working since the compressor is getting voltage as it is hot to touch?

Hi Murray,
Thank you for your inquiry. To verify which part is causing the issue you will need to use a multimeter to check the continuity of each part. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My fridge cools but then it stops and warms up like the defrost thermostat or control board but i replaced them . It comes on when i hit the side of the fridge and blows cool air and did that before i replaced the parts above. As of last night it came on only for a minute then shut down and would not come on when i hit the side. As of this morning it was about 45 degrees. Can you advise what part you think it might be?Thanks

Replace Compressor Start relay
Open back panel bottom cover (4ea 1/4" metal screws) of appliance and located compressor. A little extra cleaning of all the dust accumulated over coils to allow better airflow. This was a lot more to do than just the relay, I had to elevate the fridge 6" or so to get access to the coils, tight area to get vacuum into. The relay is easy to reach then connected to compressor by contact Pins. Relay was secured by small wire clip, Removed wire clip and relay with Capacitor mounted to top was removed by pulling it straight out (with a little wiggling) and the two wire plug then removed. Needed a small screw driver to release pin locks on the plug. With relay removed it displayed same symptoms as noted on other repairs on the site. Lose insulator material fell out of relay and rattled. (not a good thing).. Before replacing selected the correct relay for this compressor (3 in kit) matches noted in instructions from kit and simply reversed the removal. It took a while for fridge to cool again. All works fine, maybe even a little better. Cleaning helps.
I was first reluctant to start poking around, as I am limited in my handyman skills. However, not wanting to spend a lot of money, I decided to get my hands dirty. I quickly identifed the problem being the run capacitor and overload protector. I then identified the parts I needed to order using partselect.com and looked at user stories. I was confident this would work. Ordered the parts (YOU NEED TO ORDER TWO PARTS!) and began replacement. However, one of the prongs that the part connects to, broke in half. I was able to fashion a copper sheath to serve a conductor and to my amazement it worked. Had that hiccup not occurred, this would have been a mighty easy fix. Everything about this site helped and defintely gave me a "Tim the Toolman Taylor" boost of confidence.

Refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling.
The repair was incredibly easy. The only reason it took me so long to do it was that the instruction sheet did not make it clear that the parts supplied covered 4 possibilities. It took me a long time to realize that in my case (the discrete) I only needed to use the separate relay, one of the funny shaped parts, the jumper wire, and the cover, but not either of the combo versions. Maybe I'm dense or just too cautious. However, once installed, the fridge started up and is working fine.

Refrigerator stop getting cold.
After removing the bottom back, I notice a clicking noise every 30 second to 1 minute. The sound was coming from the side of the compressor, the compressor starter. After removing the starter and opening it up, I was able to see that the inside was burned out. I ordered the part online, received it within 3 business day, replaced the part within 15 minutes. That was the problem, refrigerator works like new and I saved myself at least $200.

Refridgerator and freezer both warm, not cooling at all
After a little research and seeing the posted comments on this site, I guessed that my our compressor start switch was bad. Super easy to replace. Removing the back panel took less than 5 minutes. Identifying the switch and removing it took about 1 minute. Because I was in there, I vaccuumed the coils (as recommeneded). Once I had the part in hand, the reassembly took less than 5 miuntes and my fridge/freezer WORKS!!!!. $60 and 10 minutes -vs- new fridge, best do it yourself ever. Thanks Parts Select.

no cooling, compresser relay clicks every few minutes
I diagnosed the problem from forums online. Many sites all said the same thing, the compressor relay clicks when bad and does not start the compressor. The part arrived in 5 days even though I live in the same city as the warehouse. Too bad modern shipping can't look at the address and divert it from the centralized shipping center.
The kit included several versions of the relay. It took longer (minutes) to study the clearly written instructions to determine which version of the part was needed for the specific compressor than it took to install the new relay.
But you do need some basic repair skills. Unfortunately, the women of the house could not figure out which part version to use and were afraid they would break the wires if they pulled the wires from the old relay. They had to wait until I got home from work.

simply unplugged and unscrewed back cover, pulled out old relay switch and popped in the new one! If I hadn't read on the website how to diagnose and repair, I wouldn't have attempted it!

Great service but need to return parts
The parts came quickly and were packaged well. Unfortunately, the repairman said I needed a new refrigerator freezer for other reasons so I never took the parts out of their wrappers. I need to return them. How do I return the parts for a refund?

Part fixed but confusing
I have no experience repairing refrigerators but I was able to diagnose the cause of my refrigerator compressor not working and this part fixed it. I found out on the internet that if you shake the starter and debris falls out that it has failed.
Shipment was fast as promised. I paid for overnight delivery.
The only issue is that it comes with multiple pieces for different compressor configurations and the photocopy of the instructions from the manufacturer was very hard to read. The part number on the device didn't match the manufacturer's instructions included and I had to make a guess. There are 2 identical looking parts for different compressors. Only one number matched and that was for the wrong part for my compressor so I used the other one. Make sure you know the model of compressor you have. It will be on the compressor label.
I emailed PartSelect with a question but did not get an answer. Calling might have been better. But all worked out in the end. I removed one star because of the confusing instructions and the lack of email response from PartSelect support.
