Low power - Slow to heat
Replace Magnetron and then I the inverter unit after I discovered the unit still did not heat properly. Inverter had capacitor that was cracked and I found a diode that was flashing over the printed circuit board.

All of a sudden the microwave stopped heating food on any setting. All else works exactly properly as far as display, lights, turn table, fans, etc. All work fine. No difference in sounds or operation but does not heat.

The microwave after 2 minutes will warm a bowl of water but just does not seem to heat like it should. It used to spark once in a while but does not seem to do that now we put a new rack clips and a new fuse in it.

Hello Raymond, thank you for your question. If the unit is taking a very long time to heat, or not heating the food enough the first parts you should check would be the thermostat, and sensor. If those parts are not defective, the magnetron or capacitors might be the probelm. I hope this helps!

While defrosting a dish, unit popped and smells of burnt wires, now it’s not heating but all other functions, turntable, display are fine. Do i need the magnetron replaced. And is she worth repairing, she a 2006 vintage?
For model number KHHS179LSS-5
Hello Gary, Thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the following parts to fix your issue: fuse, door switches and magnetron. You can test the parts with a multimeter. Hope this helps!
