Ice auger was damaged
I am 80 years old, female. Repair was a challenge but I was determined as my son said Mom you can do it. The video was wonderful. and I did a lot of rewinding etc. Hardest part was taking apart.. screws tough. All in all not bad. I don't want to do it for a living though!!!!! Ice is now dispensing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ice cubes would not come out of the dispenser due to broken auger.
Some plastic parts of the auger had broken off and the clear cover of the crusher housing dispenser was also cracked and a piece broken off. I watched the video on how to do the repair. I ran into trouble trying to wedge the crushing unit out of the housing with a putty knife, but found another video using two flat tip screw drivers, wedged down on each side, lifting simultaneously, and the unit popped right out. After that, it was clear sailing! After completing the repair, my ice dispense is working wonderfully!

My dispenser auger had a broken blade, and ice dispenser bucket had a crack in the bottom of it and needed to be replaced
I followed the installation instructions posted within the dispenser auger part section and found these installation instructions and comments from others very helpful. The only thing that threw me a bit was in the posted instructions, #6, stated "Remove the screw..... ". This was misleading for it is a plastic nut that has to be removed, AND, it has reverse threads. Once I found this out by looking at the parts diagram and looking up this plastic nut and seeing a comment it has reverse threads, it went pretty smooth from there . Overall, I found your site vey helpful and made the parts swap over easier.

Plastic auger broken. This part Moves the ice in the bin forward to the dispenser.
1) Remove the ice bin and empty the ice.
2) Remove 5 (Phillips) screws total.
3) Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the left top side of the housing and gently disengage the plastic holding clip. Repeat on the right side and "walk" the assembly out of the bin.
4) Remove the C clip and washer that holds the auger and remove the auger assembly.
5) Remove the nut on the end of the auger assembly (left hand thread).
6) Remove and carefully stack the ice crush blades and washers.
7) Re-install the ice crush blades and washers on the new auger, re-install the nut and tighten.
8) Re-install the auger assembly and re-install the washer and C clip.
9) Set the end of the auger in the back of the ice bin and slowly re-install the housing portion.
10) Re-install 5 (Phillips) screws total.

Ice maker auger broke end large fin
With the tools they called for it was really easy but the first plastic part that goes on you show two washers on the auger shaft and I distinctly know mine had only one is this right because this is done and working doesn’t seem to me like another would fit ? Video was terrifically clear and well done cudos.

The original auger was broken.
The replacement auger was slightly longer than it should be. The result is the auger does not turn and could burn out the motor. I had to take the auger out several times and sand down the part using trial and error until enough of the plastic material had been worn down and the auger was able to turn. It took me several attempts over a couple of days as I had to remove the part, sand it down, put it back in and try again.
