The auger [plastic clear worm ] is broken, it does not dispense ice, do i need to replace the whole assembly or just the auger
For model number GSH25JSTCSS
PartSelect logo
Hi Mario, Thank you for your question. If the only thing that is broken is your auger, I would say that would be the only part you would have to replace. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I have an ice/water dispenser and the ice side works but the water side doesn’t. Do I have to replace the whole assembly?
PartSelect logo
Hi Coleen, we recommend removing the waterline fitting, it is found at the bottom of the freezer door. If you try the water again and the water comes out of there, then the waterline inside of the door is frozen. The solution to this would be to turn the appliance off for 3-5 hours with the doors open to let it defrost. Best of luck with this repair.

The ice in my dispenser is piling up. I took a few pieces off to see whats going on and noticed that the auger is turned counter clockwise, which based on my research I hink is the wrong direction? Is this causing the buildup do you think? How would I attempt to fix this
PartSelect logo
Hello Mel, unfortunately if your motor is running backwards that is a sign that it needs replacing. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

My ice dispenser is underproducing. I’m getting ice out of it but it’s more like one cube at a time and long waits in between. Is there something wrong with my dispenser, my auger, or some type of valve? Where would you suggest I start?
PartSelect logo
Hi Heather, we recommend starting with the ice bin assembly. Remove it and check the auger WR17X11705 for damage. Then you will need to check the dispenser auger drive WR02X11941 for stripping. I hope this helps!

My ice maker makes the ice cubes, but then big clumps of cubes freeze together. What is up with that? Thanks
PartSelect logo
Hi Robert, Thank you for your question. If the ice cubes in your refrigerator are starting to freeze together, this can be caused by the opening and closing of the door and also leaving the door open for long periods of time allowing moisture to build up and and causing the ice cubes to stick together. Also check the thermostat setting in the refrigerator to make sure it is set to the proper temperature. Check your owner's manual for the proper temperature setting. Check the gaskets on the doors to see if they are sealing properly and that there are no gaps in them. If the gasket is not sealing correctly or if there are gaps, this could cause the ice to freeze and thaw and would this would cause them to stick together. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

What order do the auger blades go on the shaft
For model number hsh251ftabb

Hi Robert, thanks for the question. The auger blades should be numbered so you can determine the order they go on in. For more information, you may want to take a look at our repair video for Part # PS964350. Hopefully this helps you complete the repair yourself.

The dispenser was making a loud sound and then just a buzzing sound. The auger is broken. What broke the auger? Don't wanna just replace the auger if i didn't fix the cause of it breaking.
For model number GSH25JSXNSS
PartSelect logo
Hi Dru, Thank you for your question. If you are dispensing water or ice, the buzzing noise you are hearing is the water inlet valve open and closing. This is normal. If the auger is the only part that is broken, that should be the only part you need to replace. Regular use of the auger over time can cause it to wear down. If there is a buildup of ice in the assembly, this may cause the auger to break prematurely. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Just replaced the ice auger and the motor appears to be totally non functional, no sound or rotation. Any suggestions to troubleshoot?
For model number GSH22JSXASS
PartSelect logo
Hi Jon, Thank you for your question. You will need to test the auger motor with a multimeter to see if it has continuity. If it needs to be replaced the part number for it is PS1993875. If this is not the issue, I would check the main electronic control board in the refrigerator to see if it is working correctly. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The plastic auger is broken and cracked the plastic part near where the ice cubes come out. Also, the ice maker works but i have to turn it on and off or it fills too full or stays empty. What do i need to do. There is always a clump of ice in the right back corner that seems like the water may keep dripping there. I don't know for sure what causes.
For model number GSS25KGMCWW
PartSelect logo
Hi Bonnie, Thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like you might be having a leaking issue with your ice maker. I would check the ice maker fill cup to see if it has been broken at all. If that part is fine, you should begin by testing your Water Inlet Valve with a multi-meter to see if it is malfunctioning. Sometimes leaking can be caused when the valve is sending up too much water and the ice maker over flows. If your valve is fine, it is quite possible that your ice maker needs to be replaced. I hope this helps!

Ice cubes would not come out of the dispenser due to broken auger.
Some plastic parts of the auger had broken off and the clear cover of the crusher housing dispenser was also cracked and a piece broken off. I watched the video on how to do the repair. I ran into trouble trying to wedge the crushing unit out of the housing with a putty knife, but found another video using two flat tip screw drivers, wedged down on each side, lifting simultaneously, and the unit popped right out. After that, it was clear sailing! After completing the repair, my ice dispense is working wonderfully!
