My dryer is making a noise when the drum is rotated, it sounded like gear teeth rubbing on something. I removed the front of the dryer and found the plastic blower impeller was rubbing against the front of the blower housing. I pushed it backward and thought it might be fixed. Reassembled the dryer, but the 3rd time running it, the sound returned. What do i need to do to keep the blower wheel/impeller far enough back in the housing so that it does not rub the front of the dryer?

Hello Rick, Thank you for the question. It sounds like you are missing the Clamp and screw that holds the blower wheel in place, PartSelect Number PS267026. Hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

I just purchased a home that was 12 years old. The dryer drum and heater ran , but no exhaust air flow. The clothes got wet from heat and condensation. Could a broken/damaged or worn out impeller be the problem? I have not disassembled yet?
For model number DPSF495EWOWW

Hi David,
Thank you for your question. Normally the moisture in a dryer is filtered out through the exhaust system. If your clothes are not drying and there is moisture in your dryer after a load of laundry has gone through, then there may be an obstruction in the dryer preventing the clothes from drying properly. You will need to check the exhaust system for lint build-up or any other type of obstruction to see what is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Does partselect number ps960003 cause a squeaking noise about once per second when it needs to be replaced. Other than this regular squeak the dryer works fine, so I don’t think the motor is bad.
For model number DBXR453GV0WW

Hello John, Thank you for the question. If the center hole for the shaft is worn it can cause a squeaking noise. I suggest checking for wear or damage. Hope this helps!

Blower wheel shaft hole was rounded out, lamp was out
Removed two screws on dryer top and removed top, removed two screws holding front of cabinet and removed cabinet front to the side, disconnected wires to door switch, removed two bolts from motor mount bracket, pulled motor back to access blower wheel, removed old wheel and installed new one, reversed steps, unscrewed old light bulb and screwed in new one.
Had pure hell getting to drum belt and putting it back onto motor pulley and idler, cussed a little, didn't really help . replaced front of cabinet and top, did test run all worked ok.
This job was a little difficult, espicially accessing the belt and idler pulley...

drive belt broke
I unplugged the machine, then unscrewed two screws that hold the top and front together, and lifted off the front door. When I pulled the drum out through the front, the belt came out broken. It was the original, so this is not a surprise. I ALWAYS take this dryer apart once a year to vacuum it out, clean all the ducts and fan, and check everything. This dryer is fifteen years old, and has survived three teenage daughters with their laundry. This time I noticed that the sliders on the front door were worn, blower wheel was loose, and rear bearing was loose,so I ordered everything. The parts came in three days. By then, you could no longer see the basement floor with piles of laundry and Friday night dates looming. I had everything replaced and working in under an hour, after which there was a conflict over who gets to use it first. Hey, I only fixed it, then I walked away. So, for 140 bucks, I have now replaced virtually every critical part, and with no rust, this thing will last as long as these guys have parts. I'm happy, my daughters are happy, and that means the wife is happy. And we all know what that means...

Blower fan replacement
The part didn't fit. Hole needed filing to fit axel. Then worked fine.
After 16 years of use, needed to replace blower fan and its clamp, belt, front bearing glides and felt. Hope to get another 16 years of use.
Glad I could get the parts from PartSelect.
