My dryer is not heating. It shows it could be a few different parts such as cycling thermostat, heating element, and a few others. It says i can test these parts with a multi-meter but i cannot find what the readings should be on the parts. If i knew then i could test them. Thank you.

Hello Paul, Thank you for your inquiry. The readings on the thermostats and thermal fuse should be close to 0 ohms. The reading on a dryer heating element should be between 5-50 ohms of resistance. We have included links to our articles on how to test the thermostats and heating element. Hope this helps! https://www.partselect.com/Dryer+test-thermostat+repair.htm https://www.partselect.com/Dryer+test-heating-element+repair.htm

My dryer has all of a sudden started to require being run twice (at more than 60 min each time) to dry a load of clothes.I am assuming this is a heating element issue. How do i know for sure this is the problem before i start going and buying parts to repair the dryer?
