The 25 year old 2 burner element was worn out.
1-Unplugged the old 2 burner element. 2-Plugged in the new element. 3-Elapsed time approx. 10 seconds. 4-It took longer to remove the new element from it's shipping carton than it took to remove the old & install the new.

Replaced grill for coil element cartridge
Pulled grill cartridge out plugged coil element cartridge in
I think Part Select is great, but my story? I just plugged in a module.
It was so easy...well...a technical writer--one of those people who writes operation manuals--could have done it. But afterward, they wouldn't have been able to explain to anyone other than another tech writer how it was done.

Need electric coil cartridge. confused as some described as having 5 spades, 4 flat 1 round and some having 4 spades, 3 flat 1 round. My defunct unit has 3 spades 1 round (2 flat on one side of round spade and 1 flat on other side BUT there is an EMPTY flat space next to it on unit. The cooktop receptacle has room for 5 spades - 2 flat on either side of round. Do I need the 4 or the 5 spade? since the 4th flat receptacle on stove has remained unfilled??
For model number JED8230ADS
Hi Ellie, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the model you mentioned comes with the coil cartridge, part number PS8769936, having 4 spades, 3 flat and one round. We hope this is what you were looking for!
Will this burners keep a constant heat? For example a gas burner keeps a constant heat and allows my pressure cooker to do its job. The burners with the glass covers seem to have a thermostat and turn and on off to maintain a the same temperature but this is not good for using the pressure cook. Does the electrical burner stay on all the time when its turned on. Hope this makes since.
Hello Rodney, Thank you for the question. This Cartridge would work the same as a Glass Top Cartridge. It would adjust and turn on and off to maintain the set temperature. We hope this helps!
