This genuine Spark Plug, RCJ8Y, is sold individually, comprised of steel and ceramic, and is white and silver in color. The function of the spark plug is to ignite a mixture of air and fuel in the combustion chamber of your engine. Over time, spark plugs experience wear and tear that can cause your engine to run rough or not at all. Replacement of the spark plug is, therefore, an important part of general engine maintenance. It is also a repair most of our customers rate as easy. You can avoid replacing your spark plug by cleaning it with fine sandpaper, or spraying it with carburator cleaner, then regapping to the manufacturer specs. However, eventually, all spark plugs need replacing, usually once every season or so. Locate the spark plug in the cylinder head, and using a spark plug socket and spark plug gap tool, remove and reinstall your new spark plug. Ensure you regap and tighten your spark plug to the manufacturer specifications.
