The OEM voltage regulator or voltage control is a part used to regulate the voltage so it can provide the right amount of power to electrical components. It attaches inside the alternator housing. The part is black and 2 x 3.5 inches. If damaged, the voltage will become too low/high and the part should be replaced. This part requires a voltmeter to use properly. Please refer to your make, model, and diagram to ensure this is the correct part.

Hello... generator has no power output.....do you think this is the problem and is there a way to test it with a multi-meter? regulator-avr control ..... 8000/1350 elite series model 030210 rev no. 02 ser. 1012600980
For model number 030210-2
Hi Philip,
Thank you for your question. It could be this part or the part that generates the electricity on the generator. When testing your parts with a mutli meter, set to VAC, if you get a reading of 60 volts the AVR is bad, if you get anything lower than that the part that generates your electricity is bad. Good luck with your repair.
