I ordered the refrigerator light switch which has (2) two prongs unlike the freezer switch which is (3) three prong because of the ice maker. So I have to send it back. 4 months no light in fridge and still no light....... Ugh!

Power to ice and water shuts off can it be the light switch inside the freezer door if so how do you replace.
For model number PLHS69EES1
Hello Barry, thank you for your question. If the power to the ice and water shuts off, and comes back on, the issue is probably the dispenser control board, the micro switch or the dispenser power board. These parts a, re all located on the Ice & Water section, under your model number. ON the diagram they are items# 38, 38A, 38C. You will need to test them with a multi meter to see which one is causing the issue. Also, you may want to check the wiring/connectors between them. I hope this helps!

When refrigerator door is opened there is a delay with light coming on light is on for a short time 10-20 seconds then shuts off for a short time then comes back on. This cycle is repeated not sure what the problem is but i suspect a faulty light switch thanks for any help.
For model number Flsc238ds6
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your question. That would be the first part that I would suggest checking. You should be able to test it with a multi meter to be sure. If it is not that part that is the issue, the issue may lay in your wiring or your control panel. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Hello Betty, Thank you for the question. The light switch is normally located on the door frame where the door closes onto, at the top or along the side. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

Hello,
Thank you for your question. If the fans are running and your compressor will not start or if you hear a clicking sound from the unit, check the overload relay for signs of overheating or arcing. On modern refrigerators the overload relay is usually a combined part and plugs directly onto the side of the compressor. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Could this switch be the possible reason why my ice maker is not working? I already replaced the water valve
For model number FGHS2355PF5A
Hello Mike, Thank you for the question. The Light Switch only controls the light when the door is open and closes, it will not effect the Ice maker. If the new water valve did not fix the issue and the Ice Maker is still not filling with water, we suggest checking the Water Lines to make sure they are not froze over and blocking the water. If the lines are good, you may have a defective Ice Maker. We hope this helps!
