When my Whirlpool microwave stops, and I open the door, the interior light does not come on. Then when I try to start it again it says to close the door. The light eventually comes on, but sometimes it takes a long time.

Hello Davis, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the Door Switches, PartSelect Number: PS2361111, PartSelect Number: PS2361113 or PartSelect Number: PS10057151. You can test the switches with a multi meter to check for continuity. Hope this helps!
Is there a ohms reading for the door switch just to make sure part is bad?

Thanks for your question. Due to the electrical charge that the parts inside the microwave can still hold even when the microwave is turned off, we recommend having only a licensed service technician test and install the door switch parts.
