Washer will some times quit working in the middle of wahing clothes
For model number GTWN4250D1WS
Hello Billy, thank you for your question. This issue could be caused by the lid switch. If the switch is defective it may be telling the unit to shut off. We would recommend testing/replacing the lid switch, Lid Switch with Wire Harness PartSelect Number: PS1482372 first to see if that fixes the issue. Otherwise, it would be an issue with the board or a loose wire between the board and the unit. I hope this helps!

Hi John, Thank you for your question. The issue is likely either the electronic control board or the lid switch and you will need to check the parts with a multimeter to see which part is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My husband is frustrated with our machine. It isn't cycling correctly. Sometimes it will drain without washing, sometimes it just stops running, sometimes it doesn't spin. What part do we need to replace?

Hi Sherry, Thank you for your inquiry. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the lid switch, the electronic control board, the magnet assembly and the drive belt. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My GE washer will not start. The lights come on but the fill light just flashes and beeps. I ordered a lid switch and put it on, but it still does the same thing. Do you think that it could be the control board? This all started after my wife washed some jeans which did not finish the cycle but it did drain. My wife said the washer needed to rinse and spin which it did neither of. She tried to restart it, but it would not start either.
For model number GTWN4250D1WS
Hello George, Thanks for your question. It is a good idea in this situation to check the wiring for both the control board and for the motor, part number PS8259952, to see if there are any connections that are loose or damaged. Test the parts as well to see if they are still receiving power, and replace them if they are not. I hope this helps.

When I put on the jeans setting and push start, the water does a quick spurt out then stops (all lights come on). I push start again it does the same. I can turn the dial to a different setting and it will either do the same thing and eventually start to drain or will start normally.
For model number GHWN4250D1WW
Hi Dawn, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the timer that controls the cycles. The timer is built into the Electronic Control Board, PartSelect Number PS8757105 so the board will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

The washer doesn't completely rinse and fully drain during the rinse and spin cycles after the wash cycle is complete. The pump does drain during the rinse cycle. Our problem is that small amount of soapy water remains in the drum after rinse/spin cycle completes. This is especially True for large or heavier clothing loads.
For model number gtwn4250d0ws
Hello Dave, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to consider either the Drain Pump part PS3654194, the Drain Hose part PS890597, or the 6-Rib Drive Belt part PS1482278 for your model. We hope this helps.

The on off switch works sporadically it is the rubber covered switch to the far right of the control panel.
For model number GTWN4250DOWS
Hello ARDEN and thanks for writing. Yes, it could be a faulty switch. It seems this switch has been discontinued for your model and is no longer available. We have no known replacement information in our system. We recommend you contact the manufacturer of the part to see if they have recently released a new substitute. If it is indeed not the switch you need to check the control board and replace it if damaged part # PS8757105. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime.

My washer shuts off 7 seconds after start button is pushed, most times. Any cycle. Is this complete or is any jumper needed? I assume this is used part?
For model number GTWN4250DIWS
Hello Pam, thank you for the question. All our parts are Brand New OEM parts. We never sell used or after market parts. This is the complete board that will need to be replaced. We hope this helps.

Washer would not run. Lights on but would not run at all.
Figured out it was the control board since lights were on when I plugged the washer in but the washer never started. Pushing the ON button would flash the fill light but nothing happened. The part came in less than a week. I did notice the part came with the control panel for the water fill, water temp and options as they are wired together. The part also had the plastic holder which has the ON button pusher which I was happy about since mine had broken several months back. One note, the part did not have the jumper connector (the one that does not have wires going anywhere except itself. This was not a problem since I just used the one from the old part. Repair took about 10 minutes (I had already figured out how to remove the part to make sure I could before ordering the part). Was not hard. Put in the part and noticed the washer filled with water but stopped and never started the wash cycle. I knew something was wrong because, when the lid is closed it should spin the drum during fill up. It was not. I reconnected all the wires on the control board and it now works fine.

Washer would start, then stop numerous times before finally running it's entire cycle. Often it stopped half way through the full cycle and when it finally restarted, it would start from the beginning
This is so simple it's ridiculous. First, pull the "control knobs" off the front of the washer. Next, take the three screws (nut driver type) off the back panel then slide the loose front panel towards you and it's off. Take the part(s) you're replacing off-there are two sections joined by a flat electrical "cord" with a total of 5 nut driver screws (but a smaller size than the ones on the back panel). Tip the Control Board up from the bottom to pull it out of the unit. Unplug the 3 electrical contacts that go to the Electronic Control Board and throw away the old control board. Reverse steps to put it all back together. I did this all in less than 10 minutes. I'm pretty handy around the house, but if you know which end of a nut driver to grip, you can do it just as fast.
