The dryer does not heat. What part do i need
For model number GTD42EASJ0WW
Hi Kelly,
Thank you for your question. You are going to have to test some parts to determine what you will need. You will need a multi meter to test all of these parts. First you should test all of your thermostats and your thermal fuses. The ones directly on the heating element and the ones in the blower housing. You should also test your heating element directly as well. If all of those parts are fine you may want to then take a look at you door switch, start switch, and your timer. I hope that helps. Good luck with you repair.

Dryer starts but stopped generating heat. How to test and what parts have to replace? Thank you
For model number GTX42EASJ2WW
Hi Luba, thank you for contacting us. We have researched the model and would suggest checking the heating element, part number PS8756702, for continuity using a multimeter. Set the dial of the multimeter to the lowest ohms of resistance. Take a probe from the multimeter and touch it to one of the terminals of the heating element. Touch the second probe to the other terminal of the element. If the meter shows a reading between 0 and 50 ohms, this means the element has continuity. If there is no reading or the multimeter reading shows very little change, the heating element might need to be changed. We hope this helps, good luck with the repair!
