If i order a new microwave door assembly for my GE over range microwave jvm7195sf1ss, is it relatively easy to install? Do you have to remove the unit from its mounting?
For model number DeAnna
Hi John,
Thank you for your question. This is fairly easy repair to do. You will need a Phillips head screw driver and Torx 10 screw driver. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. Using the Phillip's head screw driver unthread the 2 screws securing the vent grille. Tilt the grille to release the tabs at the bottom of the grille and remove it. Using the Torx 10 screw driver take the top hinge screw out. Slide out the top of the door from the hinge and lift the door up off of the bottom hinge. Repeat the steps in reverse to install the new door and restore power to the microwave. The microwave should now work for you. (These are general instructions. You may require different tools to preform the repair.) I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

While cooking on our stovetop the bottom of the microwave door began to melt. Can the frame of the door be replaced or does the whole door have to be replaced
For model number jvm7195sf1ss
Hi Michael, thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, the door frame is not sold individually and you will need to replace the entire door assembly, part number PS8755588. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
