Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. This hook locker, commonly referred to as a door lock strike is specially designed for LG washers. It is a small, metal plate that is attached to the washer door. When the door is closed it engages with the door lock mechanism to keep the door securely shut while the washer is running. If it is damaged, worn down, or corroded, it will be unable to engage with the locking mechanism and prevent your washer from closing or staying shut. You may notice that your washer will not start or stops running mid-cycle. You will need to replace the door strike to fix the washer.

My door won’t latch closed, what part do I need

Hello Louise, thanks for asking us! It could be that you need the Hook Locker, aka the door strike, if it appears to be worn or broken and not catching in the latch itself. If the strike seems to be ok, then it could be the Latch Switch Assembly. I am trying to replace the locker hook on washer door and can't figure out how to remove spring to free old locker hook.

Hello Laurie, thank you for your question. Open the door and locate the magnetic door plunger at the bottom of the door’s interior. Push a hook, like a fishing hook or a small hook made from a paperclip, into the gap between the top of the plunger and the plunger itself and try to feel for a tab. Push down on that tab to release the plunger and spring. If it doesn’t work, the tab might be broken. Try again at the bottom of the door plunger for the second locking tab. We hope this helps.

does the door lock hook come in different lengths? I replaced the one that broke but the door wont lock all the way.
