We had to replace the motor on our GE washer. It now sounds very loud when spinning, like an airplane wanting to take off. I never notice it before it was replaced. I read through the manual and it said it had a fast speed motor. I noticed sporadic issues after we got it until the motor went out. Is this a normal sound for a fast spin washing machine? Thank you.

Hi Mindy, Thank you for your inquiry. When a washer is in good working order you normally do not hear the motor. It is possible that the new motor is defective. Is the washer also shaking and moving?

I have a WHDRR418G1WW washer. It is filling and draining with water, but not agitating or spinning. By the motor there is a Green light that flashes four times and then is off for about 6 seconds. What does that error code mean? The drive belt is clearly worn, but it is still turning the drum when I turn it by hand.

Hello Jamie, Thank you for the question. You can try to reset the computer boards. You do this by unplugging appliance and wait for 30 secs. Plug in machine and open and fully close the lid at 5 times. This resets computer boards, which can get messed up by power surges. The belt can also be the issue as it is not gripping and turning the drum properly. I suggest also having it replaced. Hope this helps!

My motor flashes fault #7 check mag and door switch, i tested the switch ok, tried to reset motor and that didn't work, machine will fill with water but will not run due to fault 7, any suggestions?

Hello Scott, thank you for your question. The inverter control expects to see the lid switch open after every cycle. When 4 cycles are completed without the lid switch opening, the inverter control assumes that the lid switch is defective. If the lid switch was tested and is functioning as it should the error is probably in regards to the motor and inverter, which should then be replaced. I hope this helps!

My po24 says needs to replace motor software does that come separate from the motor assembly
For model number GTWN3000M1WS
PartSelect logo
Hi Gary, Thank you for your question. Software would mean the programming inside of your motor control. I do not believe that would be something that you could buy. You may need to replace your part or contact a technician to service your appliance. Good luck with your repair.

Red light flashing on top of motor, under circuit board, does this mean motor is bad?
For model number HSWP1000M3WW

Hi Bill, Thank you for the question. It will depend on how the light is flashing. If it flashes one second on and one second off, then there is no fault with the motor. Hope this helps!
