The timer knob on my dryer broke off, i then just simply used a tool to twist it to turn on well it has broken off completely and i can no longer twist to turn on my dryer. Will this part fix my problem.?
Hi Caitlin,
Thank you for your question. If the shaft on the timer is broken, then the timer is the part that you will need to replace. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The timer well not turn so if it will not turn the dryer well not work right
For model number HTDX100EM8WW
Hi Rick,
Thank you for your question. If the timer is not advancing, then it is likely the timer, but I would also check the cycling thermsotat as well to see if it is causing the issue as well. You can test both parts with a multimeter. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

What would make the timer knob not want to turn? Than when I did get it to turn it kept turning but no clicking and when took it off the knob was cracked
For model number HTDX100EM8WW
Hello Mechelle, Thank you for the question. This would be a defective and stripped timer switch that the timer knob would control. The Part Number: PS8746223 will need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

the knob broke and my daughter tried turning the end of the knob with a pliers which broke the end which disabled the timer.
I unscrewed the back panel took out the broken timer replaced it with new timer put on the new knob and screwed the panel back on.
There was nothing wrong with the timer, but the cheap, soft plastic post that connected it to the knob broke off inside the knob.
First, I unplugged the dryer, carefully so as not to electrocute myself. Then, I removed the panel on the top, back of the dryer, using a Phillips screwdriver. Then I removed the old timer and unplugged all the connectors, one at a time, so as to make sure I plugged them back in to the correct positions on the new timer. I had to use pliers because they were very hard to remove. Then, I plugged them into the same positions on the new timer, which was easy. Then I replaced the timer into position. Then, because I could not use the old knob since it still had part of the old cheap soft plastic post stuck inside it, I took a knob for the power rinse control off of my washer, since I never use that anyway, and I put it onto the new cheap soft plastic post on the new timer, and it works like a charm. I plan to be very, very gentle with that knob, knowing, as I do, that the post that it turns is not much harder than room temperature butter and that, if I break it, it will cost me over $70 dollars to get another one, and it also will not even contain a new knob, even though the one I borrowed from my washer will be unusable because it will have half of the old post stuck in it. Finally, I replaced the panel on the top, back of the dryer and plugged in the dryer.

dryer would not run. The knob was cracked and the little piece inside was broke. Had to use pliers to run 2 loads.
My husband took top off back and went in that way and it was simple to fix. Thank youi
From behind the dryer remove the panel directly behind the timer assembly (6 phillips head screws). Take a picture at this point of how the wires are attached to the timer assembly for reference during reassembly Then remove wires with pliers. Remove T10 Torx screw that retains the timer assembly in place. Remove timer Knob (pull forward). Rotate timer assembly to pop it out. From here, twist in new timer, use T10 torx to hold in place re-attach wires and reinstall rear panel
Very Easy installation. Took the back panel off, disconnected the timer, replaced it with new timer from partselect.com., then I put everything back together and attached the knob. The dryer works great and no more pliers!. Thank you to the associate that help me make sure I had the correct parts, and I am very satisfied with the service. I would Recommend this sight to anyone. Thanks Again.
Took back top off of dryer.5 wires connected to timer.I took 3 off, after unplugging dryer first,of course.I remembered which wire went where, then unplugged other 2.Replaced the back of dryer.Plugged it in,works just fine.Wife happy,me happy.

Knob kept turning around without clicking
Husband took off the back of dryer and took off old timer and replaced it with the new, put on new knob, worked great, Ordered it on day, and we received it the next day, thank you for the quick delivery.
Followed the directions but met resistance when the timer could not be slipped off the "peg". This timer was installed with a very small screw to remove and install the new timer.- Thus, called an electrician who had the very small screw driver to install the timer! So $$$$$$$$$$. unhappy about this!

Timer controller knob broke off and did not leave enough center pole to attach new knob.
Pulled dryer out from wall and used screwdriver to remove back plate and screw holding timer controller. Once loose I then held new part next to old part and switched wires one at a time, afterwards I replaced back and pushed dryer back into position.

Easy repair
I ordered the main part and a knob for it as well. The main part was correct but they sent me a completely different other item instead of a knop. I could not wait to have another one sent ro me so I went to a local store. But it was a easy repair and thankfully I didn't have to buy a new dryer.
