My Bosch dishwasher makes a loud grinding sound when trying to drain then presents with an error code "E25." I have checked to see if there is blockage of the drain and it is clear. I recently removed the drain pump and it turns freely and is tight. Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing the dishwasher not to drain?
For model number SHE6AP05UC / 03
Hello Jonathan, Thank you for your inquiry. An E25 error code indicates the drain pump is blocked or the drain pump cover is loose or missing. Check the cover to make sure it is tight and locked into place. Also check the micro filter and fine filter to make sure they are clean and undamaged. Check the drain hoses for any debris or cracks. Finally, this error can also be caused by a faulty float switch, so you can test the float switch with a multimeter to see if it has continuity, and test the drain pump to rule out the electrical components. Good luck with your repair.
I see you have the P/N 00669135 heat pump. I had an E9 error and have removed the pump, which is typically the likely cause of the error. But, it could be something else, so do you know how I can check if the pump I just removed it not working before I buy a new one?
For model number SGE63E05UC/29
Hello Stephanie, thank you for getting in touch. Use a multimeter to measure resistance (ohms) across the heat-pump terminals. Set the multimeter to (ohms), typically on the 200 setting. Measure resistance between the two heating element terminals. A functional unit usually reads between 10–30 ohms. Infinite resistance indicates a broken heating element (open circuit), which needs repalcement. We hope this helps.
