Water ran into the freezer whenever drinking water dispencer was pushed.
Pulled out Refridgerator, unpluged the same. Removed the bottom pannel and pulled out the wiring harness. Followed instructions provided and cut the 3 wires wires to the part that needed replacing. Then I stripped the old wiring at the end and connected the replacement diode ( new part ) with the wires from the replacement part . The
... Read moren I used electrical tape to cover the connection. Wires are collor coded and easy to replace. Plugged the Refridgerator back into the power outlet and tested the Refridgerator. Drinking waterdispenser worked fine and water for the ice maker only dispensed to fill the icemaker. Replaced the back bottom cover. Problem solved. Cost of the part less than $ 10.00. Great help from the Repair help in the diagnostic of the problem and selecting the spare part.

We are getting no water through the water dispenser. We replaced the water valve and ice maker continues to work but no drinking water coming out.

Thank you for your question. I would suggest the checking your micro switch next. You can test that part with a multi meter. If that part is fine then the problem may lay in your control board. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
The water dispenser drips constantly. Ice maker seems fine. What part (5303918287) is required to resolve the dripping issue? The water valve supplies both ice and drinking water, correct? Appreciate your help.

Hi Will, Thank you for the question. I suggest replacing the inlet valve, PartSelect Number: PS7784018. The valve has 2 parts, one for the ice maker and one for the dispenser. The most common issue is with the valve not closing all the way and allowing water to flow through. Hope this helps!

what is the function of the diode assembly attached to the water solonoid wiring?

After use, the water dispenser drips. The ice maker works fine.
