Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This dishwasher electronic control board serves as the central command unit for managing all major functions of the appliance, including wash cycles, water drainage, heating, and drying. Engineered for precision and reliability, it coordinates the timing and operation of internal components to ensure efficient performance. A malfunctioning control board may result in symptoms such as failure to start, mid-cycle interruptions, improper draining, or error code displays. Replacing this genuine OEM component restores full functionality and helps maintain consistent operation across compatible dishwasher models. Installation should be performed with the appliance disconnected from power.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

My dishwasher seems to be stuck on the same settings and no matter what pad is pushed it stays on those settings and can't be changed. It also sometimes wont start. Just stays lit up with the settings it seems to be stuck with. Is this a control panel issue or touch pad issue?
For model number MDB8949SBW0
Hello Gary, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the Electronic control board, Part #: PS8260218. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

I have a Maytag dishwasher that when I select the normal cycle (or any other cycle), several other settings become selected and I cannot unselect them. The start button will not light. Sometimes the machine will start washing, but mostly does not. Is this a control panel issue or a control module issue?
For model number MDB7749SBW3
Hello Doug, Thank you for the question. Normally this is an indication the Dishwasher Electronic Control is defective and will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

My start button is not engaging. Other buttons light up when pushed and the CANCEL/drain works. Do I need an electric panel? I do not think I need the outside control panel, right?
For model number MBD7749SBM3
Hello Laura, Thank you for the Question. If it is just the Start Button that is not working, the Front Control Panel with Touch Pad will need to be replaced. It is the most used and can wear out. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Hello Carmen, thank you for your question. It is most likely a control panel issue. The buttons are probably stuck. We would recommend replacing the control panel first. If that doesn't fix the issue the board would have to be replaced. I hope this helps!

Our dishwasher is not heating/drying. The heating element has continuity and the i replaced the thermostat so i think it's the control board. How can i test the our control board and is this the correct replacement board?
For model number mdb7749sbm3
Hi Matthew, thank you for your question. You could take a look at the wiring at the element and into your appliance for any damages. However if your wiring is fine then it is likely your board that is the issue. Unfortunately only a technician would be able to test an electronic control board. There are too many components on the piece so you have to know what you are doing to be able to do it correctly. Good luck with your repair.

I have an issue where only the "quick wash" and "rinse only" functions are working on my Maytag dishwashers control panel when i push the button. Any suggestions as to if this would be the control panel vs the grey control module? The unit starts and operates, just not all functions can are able to be selected.
For model number MDB7749SW0
Hi Mike, thank you for your question. Unfortunately only a technician would be able to test those two parts to check which one is giving you the issue. There would be a few different in depth tests to make. It sounds like it might be more in your control panel but it really could be either part. Good luck with your repair.

The Dishwasher comes on on its own or when it is run and the cycle is finished it starts over rather than stopping
For model number MDB8949SBW3
Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched your model and it could be an issue with the door latch, or the control board. You can test the switch with a multimeter. Good luck with your repair.
Dishwasher not filling, door switch good, float switch has continuity/breaks continuity, external power will activate inlet valve and good water pressure when activated. I figure control board is all that's left. My board is W10539791 rev B.
