The oven temperature sensor for your range may also be called a probe. The quick connect on this part may differ than your original piece. If the temperature sensor does not fit you will have to cut off the quick connect, and then wire together with porcelain wire nuts. The function of the oven temperature sensor is to measure the temperature in the oven and signal the other heating components. Before you begin this repair make sure to disconnect the power to the range. The tools required for this installation include a number two Phillips screwdriver or a number two square head screwdriver, and maybe a pair of wire strippers and crimpers.

Hello Lewis, thank you for your question. It sounds like it might be the sensor probe or the control board. The oven is controlled by the electronic control board, and thermostat or sensor probe. The I suggest testing the sensor with a Ohm Meter. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. You can also test the elements for continuity to be sure they are both functioning. If the sensor and elements are tested and are functioning correctly the electronic control board would be the issue. Good luck with your repair!

Hi Damion, Thank you for the question. If both the top broil and bottom bake element is not heating, I suggest replacing the Electronic Clock/Timer, PartSelect Number: PS1146103. This part acts as a oven controller. Hope this helps!

Hi S, thank you for your question. There are a couple parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. I hope that helps. About a month ago my oven over-heated and burned things to a crisp. I ordered a new probe for it and it worked again, but seemed to run on the hot side. It just over-heated again and burned my food. What is causing this and what part do you recommend? I think it read error f10 before i disconnected the electricity.

If the new part is malfunctioning, I would use a multimeter to check the continuity of the probe as well as the wiring between the probe and the electronic control board and the electronic control board to verify which of these parts is causing the issue. Hi, I have a 2004 Frigidaire pro series double oven that the upper broiler element won't heat up on. If I turn on just the upper oven itself the lower burner heats up but not the top element (lower broiler and oven work fine). The upper oven portion heats up just not the broiler part element. I just replaced the element with a new one from you guys (thanks for the quick shipping) and the broiler still wont heat up. I have a 40", duel fuel, 2 oven range. Using an oven thermometer, each oven is about 50 degrees off. To bake at 350 degrees, i must set the ovens to 400 degrees. What do i need to fix this problem?

Oven not heating to desired temperature
Replaced clock control by removing surface burner control knobs and plastic nuts, and then the cover over the oven control. Two screw hold the clock in place, after removal and disconnecting the plug-in you can reinstall the new clock control. The Heat Sensor inside the oven will also need to be replaced. It is located inside the oven and attached with two screws; the back of the oven will need to be removed to unplug. Reverse removal procedure and turn the power back on to the stove.

Oven wouldn’t get up to temperature
I removed the sensor from inside the oven with a 1/4” nut driver, pulled the sensor out slowly and then took the connection apart and found out that the connector was different, I cut the connector off of the oven side and then cut the connector off of the new sensor and wired it together. I am still trying to find the ceramic nuts. My oven is working for now. Very easy fix, just wish there were ceramic wire nuts with the new sensor

Oven would overheat and not control properly
Simply took oven out of wall, removed back plate, unplugged old sensor, went in the front and unscrewed old sensor, put in new sensor, went in back and plugged in new sensor, put on back plate, push oven in wall. Turn on power

Thermostat. Didn’t cut off at set temp
Phillips screwdriver used to remove 2 screws at top left in oven. Pulled thermostat out until I could get to the connector. Used pliers to hold wire, reconnected new plug , threaded it back into back of oven and reattached the two screws. Saved $150 on a service repair call.

Oven would start to heat then quit,checked the temperature sensor with ohm meter after cool down reading about 1100 ohms. I cleaned connection tried it again seemed to work well but quit again in just few days.
Pulled range out from cabinet, removed back plate, two screws inside oven attaching the temp sensor. Then pulled the sensor and wire through from back. Reverse to replace about Ten minutes OEM parts plug in same, works great

Error Code F1
I usually try the cheapest part to replace when I come to a fork In the road but I wasn't home at the time and my other half called in the "expert". He said it was the clock timer and it would be $450 to replace it. She sent him away and I bought one online for $200 and put it in only to find out that it didn't solve the problem. Did some reading and found out that it could be the sensor. Put an ohm meter on it and found that to be the problem. Left the new clock timer in it anyway so now we're good for another 100,000 cookies or 1000 pizzas, which ever comes first

When oven was set at 400, actual temp would run about 285.
1 Turned off the oven breaker.
2. Removed the oven racks.
3. With a Phillips screwdriver, removed the mounting screws holding the temperature sensor and unplugged it.
4. New sensor plug did not match 20 year old connector. Had to cut and solder splice the connectors.
5. Installed the new sensor and now oven holds temperature steady.

oven not reheating after initial heat up
unscrew the sensor inside the oven; took off the back of range to access harness of sensor; the replacement part harness did not match up to the original, so we stripped the clip from the end of the part and also the end of the harness in should clip into. after joining the wires together with ceramic wire nuts we tested the oven to make sure all worked AND IT DID!

F10 Error. Temp sensor at 1189 room temp ohms
1. Loosened 2 sensor mounting screws and removed them. 2. Tripped range circuit breaker to off. 3. Pulled out the range but left gas connected. 4. Loosened the 4 screws on RH side of the top back panel and carefully pried that side of the panel open. 5. Using fingers, threaded the sensor's wiring harness through insulation and into the oven. 6. Unplugged old probe. 7. plugged in new probe. 8. tugged wiring harness back through insulation behind the oven. 9. Using 2 screws removed in 1 above, mounted new sensor. 10. Repositioned top back panel and fastened it in place. 11. Shoved range back in. 12. Tripped range circuit breaker to on. 13. Reset clock. 14. Set oven to 450 for test tun. 15.
