Our ice cube maker just stopped the other day. I've repowered the fridge and still it doesn't work. I lowered the freezer temp to 5 f and after a day the white plastic on the ice cube maker is about 22 f with my infrared thermometer gun the manual states that it has to be below 15 f for ice making to start. Is the ps6011776 (GE wr60x10342) fan motor a frequent failure item? Is there any easy way to see if it's failed? Any other helpful hints on what to look at? If it helps i'm in sw florida.

Hi John, Thank you for your question. There are a few parts that you could check for fluctuating temperature inside of your freezer. You may want to test your temperature sensor. You could also take a look at your defrost thermostat as well. If those parts are fine and it is just your ice maker not making ice, there are only two parts that could cause that. Either the ice maker itself or the water inlet valve not sending want up to the ice maker. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
