Noisy operation (from the inside)

Read moreolds the motor/fan (you might be able to swap the motor by removing the little plastic piece that holds the motor, or you can remove the bigger piece and then remove the small piece that holds the motor). Pull the fan blade off (to reuse), swap the motor. NOTE - the new motor wire terminals may be on the opposite side of the motor vs. the old motor - that is not a problem - there is plenty of room for the wires. After the motor is installed put the fan blade back on, reinstall the removed plastic pieces in the back of the refrigerator. Now, I'd suggest a quick test. Make sure the new motor works and the fan blows before you button it up. Once you know it works, power it off, and put the sheet metal cover back on, reinstall the basket brackets, put the baskets back in place, close the door, and turn it back on.

It was making a noise
Take out shelves and back shelf pins and remove long cover. Disconnect wires and take old part out and installed new part. Then reversed and put everything back together. It worked perfect. No more noise

Upper 1/2 of freezer not cold. Upper half of refrigerator not cold
Removed all drawers in freezer. Removed screws from slides for drawers on left side of freezer. Removed evaporator coil cover screws from behind where freezer drawers and shelf’s are. Upper halves of Refridgerator and Freezer were too warm.
Unplug fridge, remove shelves, remove back cover, unplug old motor, remove adapters from old motor, put adapters on new motor, install new motor, replace cover, replace shelves, plug fridge back in, give it 24 hours to stabilize thermally.

Refrigerator/Freezer not cooling
Disconnect power to refrigerator. Removed all food from Freezer. Removed all Shelves and shelf clips. Used phillips screwdriver and removed 6 screws from lower rear panel covering evaporator coil. Removed panel. Pulled plastic fan blade off top of motor shaft. Unclip top front of black motor retainer clip which then allowed the rear clip

Reinstalled clip, hooking rear side first. Then rehooked the 3 wires. Slide fan blade back on top until secure. Tested everything at this point before reassembling rear panel. Then replace rear panel, replace the 6 screws, replace shelf clips and shelves and replace food. Very easy to do and saved about $150 over a service call to troubleshoot and re-visit to install after getting part

Side by side 25cf unit. removed contents from freezer, removed shelving, removed ice maker, removed shelving brackets, removed rear wall that serves as cold air duct, unplugged three electrical leads, pried off fan blade using putty knife to spread the prying force, removed fan motor by unlatching plastic mount ears.

My drain pan is filling and overflowing on the floor. Will replacing this part fix the problem? Is this what causes the water to evaporate during defrost cycle?

Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your inquiry. If your drip pan is overflowing, this may be caused by excessive humidity or there is not enough heat exchange from the compressor. The heat from the compressor is what evaporates the water in the drip pan. There may also be an issue with the a clogged or frozen drain line or a condenser fan issue. Freezer is cold but refrigerator is warm and water is collecting under the vegetable/meat bin. What part would I need to solve the problem?

Hi Robert, Thank you for the question. The first thing to check would be the fan at the back of the freezer. If this fan is not running the air would not circulate properly. If the fan is running you can check the rubber gasket around the door. Make sure there are no gaps or defects. If it is letting warm air in it can effect the temperature and cause sweating inside the appliance. If the coils have a ice build up or frost, you may need to replace the Bi-Metal Defrost Thermostat. If there is no frost build up I suggest testing the Thermostat Assembly. It is also a good idea to check the Air Diffuser Assembly to make sure it is opening and closing, letting cold air from the freezer over to the Fresh Food section. Hope this helps!

I have a kenmore coldspot 106.57282791. Noticed today that fridge was only cool, not cold.The freezer was at 17f, fridge at 46f. (sigh)
could hear the fan come on when freezer door was left open for a minute (while checking things out).
shifted control to direct most cold to fridge, and temperature control dial was set on 4 (6 is Max cold).
on the fridge side, a small amount of cold air is coming through the diffuser.
checked temperature a while later, fridge now up to 50f (guess i'm throwing a lot of stuff out).
turned controls to direct Max cold to fridge, and set to coldest.
checked about 5 hours later (just now), and fridge temp down to 30c.
i've the balance to be even between freezer and fridge for now and see what happens.
from those details, any idea if i'm looking at an evaporator fan/motor, diffuser, or other problem?

Fan motor making a rumbling noise and the rpm's rise and fall slightly. Can you tell me what might be happening? All else seems to be working.

Ref works than stops. Turn temp off or pull plug reset works for afew days shuts off. Sounds like the thermostat is bad or defrost timer. What parts do you suggest i get first

Compressor not getting any power

Hi Lee, Thank you for the question.If there is no power going to the compressor, I suggest checking the outlet the appliance is plugged into. You can also check the wiring to make sure nothing has come lose or is defective.If the compressor is getting power but not coming on, I suggest testing the Capacitor, Part Number: PS11757023 and the Overload Part Number: PS392659, with a Multi Meter to see if they are defective. Fridge emits a loud buzzing which seems to be coming from the evaporator cover vibrating. When the cover is removed and the evaporator fan motor is on, the noise disappears. Have tried putting weatherstripping on the inside edges of the cover, but that didn't help. Thank you for your help. ~rick
